I went to Red Lobster today and had the boardwalk popcorn shrimp with extra fries. It is hard to believe but their fries are so good, mainly because they put this seasoning all salt on them. So I got to thinking, what are your favorite places to get french fries? 1) In-N-Out (ate there about 3 weeks ago twice and best fries I have ever had, period - burger was pretty good as well). 2) Whataburger (ate at one in El Paso about a month ago and was really impressed with how good the fries were) 3) Red Lobster 4) Steak N Shake (the thinnest fries ever but oh so good) 5) Sonic (I have found myself eating there more and more, mainly because how good the fries are).
Mcdonalds is still my favorite french fries. Especially immediately after it comes out of the oil and gets salted.
Hell yeah!! I just rediscovered the Super Scoop Curly Fries. I've had at least one a week for the past month. Whataburger and Popeyes tie for second Every now and then I crave Wendy's fries dipped in a Frosty. That's right, dipped in a Frosty and it rocks.
-Wendy's. (I would never adulterate them by dipping them in a Frosty, or even ketchup. Just lots and lots of salt.) -Popeyes. -HEB, at least the ones around here. They have these yummy huge wedge fries. -EZ's. (may or may not be in Houston) French fries... a subject near and dear to my heart, unfortunately...
That's what everyone says but you soon will fall victim to the Frosty. You now have the idea planted in your head and one day you will say, it's just a Frosty, what harm would there be if I had a dip. I mean it's just one dip, what's the worst that could happen.......There is no turning back now...
Wendys has the worst old people french fires ever. So starchy. Hooter's has the best seasoning. Corn Dog 7 had awesome seasonsing, but I think they may have all shut down.
Ahhhh......I've been meaning to post this. I went to Vegas a few weeks back, and I had my first In and Out Burger experience. I was totally underwhelmed. The burger was good....but not great. Somewhere between Sonic and Whataburger (Whataburger, of course...being the best). The fries however......that's what I really want to talk about. I HATED them. I handed them to my nephew and let him eat them. I had at least a dozen...each time hoping for a better experience. But they all tasted the same too me. Very little potato taste.....and a texture that I can only believe would be equivilant to stacking newspaper, wetting the stack through, slicing the newspaper thin, and then deep frying it. All that build up from so many people.......and I could care less if I ever go again.
I played a Celtic gig in Killeen a week ago at this place called the Irish Dragoon. They had the best fries I'd ever eaten.
