Who are your favorite live action TV characters of all time? I decided not to include animated characters, because the traits of those characters are developed through so many different people like animators, artists, and voice actors, that you really can't compare an animated character to a live person. Besides, there are enough animated shows out there to create a separate thread for favorite animated characters. Mine are:

    1) Al Bundy - probably the most consistently funny character in TV history. For some reason, Al's jokes never seemed to get old

    2) Lucy Ricardo - If "Vitameatavegamin" isn't in your top ten TV episodes, ever, you truly have no soul...

    3) MacGuyver - Who knew that there were so many ways to make explosive devices?

    4) Dr. Robert Romano (ER) - He was so mean and evil, you just had to love him. Plus, he probably had the coolest death in TV history.

    5) Jack Bauer - I've only seen one season of 24, but anybody that has saved the world five times in five days has to be cool, right?

Barbarino- John Travolta in Welcome Back Kotter. Those were the days. Up your nose with a rubber hose.

Barney - Don Knotts in The Andy Griffith Show

Dwight Schrute - Rainn Wilson in The Office. The best character on tv right now, followed closely by his boss, Michael Scott, imo.

Crissy - Suzanne Sommers in Three's Company. Who didn't love "jiggle tv" at it's finest and earliest stages?

Jayne Cobb- "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." The man is a trained ape.

    In no particular order:

Dr. Sam Beckett - "Quantum Leap" - Is there anything this guy couldn't do? Scientist, martial arts expert, pianist, singer, dancer, monkey. Ok, that last one wasn't one of the series' high points, but the man did it all for 5 seasons. Except make it home unfortunately. :(

Al Bundy - "Married With Children" - Can I get a "Whoa Bundy"? "Whooooooooooooooa Bundy!"

Jack Bauer - "24" - Probably the baddest man ever on the small or big screen. He saved a Presidential candidate from assassination, prevented L.A. from nuclear destruction(twice), prevented a virus outbreak, and brought down a corrupt President. And he only needed 5 days to do it.

Wesley Wyndam-Pryce - "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", "Angel" - My favorite storyarc of all-time for a TV character. Who would've ever thought the cowardly idiot who first showed up on "Buffy" would go on to become such a ruthless badass on "Angel"?

Al Bundy is also one of my all time favorites...was going to say Homer Simpson but you said no animation.

Michael Scott - "The Office" - he is freaking hilarious in everything he does, his sayings, and facial expressions.

Jack Bauer would torture all others until they admitted his greatness. Then he would shoot them anyway.
