Rick Blaine from Casablanca. Was anyone smoother and delivered more cool one liners than him? Batman. the coolest car, and money up the wahzoo. Plus he makes rubber nipples look cool. what are ur favorites?
i love Ed Norton's redeemed character in American History X spiderman/peter parker the male cop on Law & Order:CI whose name escapes me samuel l. jackson in pulp fiction (Jules)
There's a handful of cf.net BBS posters that I would like to mention... Vic Romano and Kenny Blankenship
Magneto....A great character who always does what he feels is right. He just has a skewd perspective. It also ups his cred that he had a good showing in the Clutchfans greatest villain tournament thread....I can't remember if he was able to pull off the upset of Agent Smith. Han Solo...nuf said. Ender the Xenocide. A person who is fooled into commiting a horrible atrocity, but then spends the rest of his life (or at least until book three where the story kind of got boring) trying to attone for it. Santa Claus...The dude brings toys down a chimney...what else can you want.
This list could go on for days… Ulysses King Lear Faust Bill Sikes Holden Caulfield Sherlock Holmes Hercules Scheherazade Madame Bovary Odysseus on and on and on...
Movie: Billy Madison Happy Gilmore Tony Montana John Creasy Van Wilder Aragorn The One/Mr. Anderson Thomas Crowne Jonn McClane Pete "Maverick" Mitchell Frank Abagnale Jr. (not all of that was true) Rocky Jim West Martin Riggs William Wallace Jack Sparrow T-100 Dark Helmut Rick Vaughn/Willie Mays Hays/Pedro Cerrano Any Robert DeNiro character Any Brad Pitt character I'm sure I got more, but I can't think of 'em now... TV Show: George Costanza Larry David (He can't really act like that can he? So that's fictional.) Clayton Bigsby Chandler Bing Stewie Michael (Damon Wayans character from My Wife and Kids)
You beat me to it. Ender the Xenocide, the child genius, and the Speaker for the Dead. I've always loved Ender's cold, calculating nature, and it's hard not to feel for him- isolated, exploited, and torn from just about everyone he ever loves. On top of that, he has the weight of destroying an entire species/race on his conscience. But he doesn't allow that to define the rest of his life. He turns around and spawns an entirely new profession, one that only he can truly execute to perfection, being a Speaker for the Dead. He is the Speaker for the Dead, and there could be no others. In one lifetime, he is the most hated and the most revered of all people, simultaneously. Ender is an amazing character.
Tom Hanks as Jimmy Duggan in A League of Their Own. the lines he throws out so perfectly are classic. i can't imagine anyone would've done better or that the character could be written better. he's so damn funny. from tv, who else: Homer Simpson. possibly the most quotable and classic character in history.
This could go on and on, but I'll pick my first favorite character: Looking back now, it may have been Lynda Carter I was crazy about.
