Just talking about cult movies here in the office. There's quite a few that I really like...Blazing Saddles...too many people like this to be considered "cult"...Once Were Warriors...internationally recognized, maybe cult-like in the US. I guess my current favorite has to be "Strange Brew" with Bob and Doug MacKenzie. Pretty far out there...you hosers!! So dish out your favs so I can give some consideration to adding them to my Netflix list.
Dead Man on Campus. This movie got bombed by the critics, but it is one of the funniest pieces of film I've ever seen. One of the few movies that gets funnier the more you watch. "My intestines are over two miles long"
I watched that movie based on someone (guess it was you) saying that. There were hardly any similarities. Care to expand on this?
Not sure it these all meet the definition of cult movies or not. Delicatessen Ciity of Lost Children Big Lebowski A Clockwork Orange Solaris (the Russian one) Blade Runner Two others the i have been meanging to see are Brazil and The wicker man.
They were showing that on IFC last month but i never got around to watching it. I will catch it if they show it again.
I always think of a cult movie as a film that has a small, but ardent group of fans, which wasn't a great commercial success on the big screen.
cult movies....off the top of my head...I could probably think up quite a few if I had the time. Kentucky Fried Movie Heavy Metal Spinal Tap Blade Runner and even tho it might not be considered cult anymore....Rocky Horror. ohyea...and great call on Strange Brew...I love that movie.
Heathers (one of my all time favorites for some reason) also Office Space, Repo Man, and I'll probably have to be reminded of the rest.
If this definition holds correct, then would "Rocky Horror Picture Show" be the highest grossing cult film of all time?
