With Christmas a few days away, I thought I would ask what everyone's favorite childhood toys were. Besides every Kenner Star Wars toy made between 1977-1982, and Atari 2600, I had quite a few... When I was super little I had these Fisher Price Underdog toys that were really cool. They were like '70s Underdog transformers. I think I had a Polly Purebred too, but my memory is fuzzy... I also had many of the early '70s Mego Batman figures that I ended up destroying in a few years. At least I got my moneys worth. Smash Up Derby You would send the model cars off ramps at each other for hilarious head-on fatal accidents. Some runner-ups would be Pulsar, Six Million Dollar Man figure, My Buck Rogers Toys, Stretch Armstrong, Spiderman wrist darts, I also had a big Voltron like toy, but it was around 1980, years before that cartoon was out - would anyone know what it might be? - I can't remember. BTW, anyone remember Squirmles???!!!
The Evil Kneivel bike and launcher, knock em sock em robots and the electic football game, the one in which you put the men on the field, turned on the electricty and they spun in circles
I'm saving all my hot wheels cars for my chil....awwww crap I can't get MAnny's post out of my headd.....
Look at all the guys in their mid 30's talking about their old toys. Those SST (or was it SSP) smash up derby cars rocked. Rockem Sockem Robots, Hot wheels, GI Joes (the 12'' guys not the little starwars sized guys), all the starwas stuff, my Atari, pong, I had a ba ba black sheep air craft carrier that launched airplanes. Man I wish I had all my toys now.
i gave my hot wheels to my son...unfortunately my mom sold my old star wars stuff at a garage sale. oddly enough, she's told me she's already bought him for christmas a fair amount of the same stuff she sold away. he's getting a tie fighter...milennium falcon...and an x-wing, along with some figures.
Cool. If you don't want your opinion of Manny to change don't go into the New York Times thread. I'll just warn you its not about that any more.
Haha, I might be getting a 1978 Millennium Falcon for Christmas THIS year (same Xmas present I got in 1978 ). I promised I wouldn't destroy this one...
One of my favorites was a Battlestar Galactica model that my Father put together for me and my brothers. That's really what stands out in my mind the most. I remember a sit and spin, but the details around that memory were not too happy.
My mom sold all of my old He-Man and Transformer action figures at a huge garage sale over 15 years ago. I had every He-Man action figure ever created. Man what I would give to get those back!
WHAM-O Super Ball - Good for 1 awesome bounce. Hot Wheels - Hours of fun (Johnny Lightning very distant 2nd) Incredable Eddables - Oooh, I get to eat a root beer flavored bug. SST - Fast but you need some distance to make it run. Rock-em-Sock-em Robots - Hey, you knocked my block off. Smash-Up Derby - I didn't have 1, but I loved playing with them over at my friends. Models - Nothing says job well done like explosives and fire.
