I was wondering with the new Academy Award for best animated film and it seems like a non-stop list of computerized, animated movies coming out such as Shrek, Ice Age, etc. What is your favorite cartoon movie. I have to go with "The Lion King" as mine. There's just something about the whole story that gets to me, I don't know what it is but I can sit and watch this movie over and over again.

Dude...The Little Mermaid and Disney's Robin Hood. Hands down. Lol. I can't believe I just admitted to loving The Little Mermaid.

    Does Heavy Metal count? ;)

I guess my fav would have to be Prince of Egypt, Shrek, or Balto The 1st one.

Not Oscar quality, but I'm partial to Transformers the movie.

Leonard Nimoy, Orson Wells, Robert Stack, Judd Nelson, Casey Kasem, and Peter Cullen as voices.

Great action scene where Optimus turns the tide, but is followed with his dramatic death. Its got that wholesome comedic appeal also. Bambi's Mom has nothing on Optimus.

Peter Cullen, you may have heard him as the voice in every other movie preview in the late eightes. If you get over the fact that all the deaths were a nice way to sell more toys, you can see this as a good movie.

    The Secret of NIMH.

Boy, they sure don't make cartoons like they used to...

(Lion King comes in second place...)

I LOVED that movie when I was a kid, haven't seen it in forever though.

How Waking Life (by Richard Linklater - Slacker, Dazed & Confused, etc...) didn't get nominated for the Oscar this year is beyond me. It was a truly groundbreaking animated film.

Secret of NIHM was a good one, then they made some stupid sequel. Name one Disney Cartoon Movie without a Sequel, They just ruin all these classic movies.

Heavy Metal would count, I didn't say what is your favorite children's cartoon movie. Any cartoon movie is credible.

Why do sequels ruin originals? I still love Raiders of the Lost Ark despite Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. I still love Back to the Futures 1 and 2 despite numero tres. I still love The Lion King despite that sequel.

    Transformers followed by Lion King

I have a question, I remember liking a set of toys similar to transformers that was around during the 80's. They even had their own movie, I want to say they were like transforming rocks or something.

Anyone know what cartoon I'm talking about?

There were the Gobots, but thgey weren't rocks.

The inhumanoids were like rocks, atleast some of them, but didn't transform.

    There were Orbots...not rocks though.

MASK was a wipe off of Transformers also.

Well I looked up those cartoons and none of them look like what I was thinking.

I believe the evil dudes lived in a volcano. I'm pretty sure about the rock part though, like they looked like the Thing, except they could transform into stuff also...

This ****'s going to be killing me all day...

"Rock and Rule"- it's "Planet of the Apes" with rats... Haven't seen it in like 8 years though, so it might not be as cool as I remember(haven't found anything on the net about it either, surprisingly)...

BGM- that sounds an awful lot like Inhumanoids... Was there one guy that was huge and demonic and the lights on his toy version glowed or something?

I've been doing quite a bit of research on Inhumanoids and I'm positive that that's not what I'm thinking of...
