Dr. Dunkenstein played for Louisville just prior to Phi Slamma Jamma days if I am not mistaken. Can't remember his name either ( I have CRS disease). Not sure if he played a bunch in the NBA.

Good Call!! I googled him and here it is: 1980-81: "Dr. Dunkenstein" The team still needed offensive punch. So with the second pick in the 1980 NBA Draft the Jazz selected College Player of the Year Darrell Griffith from the University of Louisville. Griffith, a 6-4 guard, was both a high-flying slam dunker (he was nicknamed "Dr. Dunkenstein") and a deadly three-point shooter. In the 1980-81 season Griffith and Dantley provided a potent one-two scoring punch as they combined for 51.3 points per game. Unfortunately, that was more than half of Utah's total production; the squad averaged a franchise-low 101.2 points per game. The team improved its record slightly, to 28-54, and also managed to leapfrog over the expansion Dallas Mavericks and out of the Midwest Division basement. ... Griffith averaged 20.6 points and was named NBA Rookie of the Year... Had about 10 year career, first 5 better than last 5.
Alltime favorite: Round Mound of Rebound. New School Fav: The Truth. Round Mound for it's originality, and the Truth because it's simplistic yet authoritative at the same time. And bonus points for being so synergistic with the "you can't handle the truth" clip from A Few Good Men.
Who was "The Stormin' Mormon"? Was that Shawn Bradley, or Steve Young, or someone else? Also: "Downtown" Freddy Brown Dominique "The Human Highlight Reel" Wilkins A. C. "The Virgin" Green
This was my favorite also. I don't think Gene Peterson ever called the guy by his real name - Billy Paultz. He played for the Rockets for 3 seasons from 1980 to 1983.
Back in the 60's and 70's the Bulls had a pair of forwards: Chet "The Jet" Walker and Bob "Butterbean" Love They also had a center Tom Boerwinkle whose nick was "Bullwinkle" I'd have to go with "Dream" or "Magic" though for their overpowering simplicity and elegance.
