Yes, I know we have done one of these before but it has been awhile as they do not occur as often as the "What Are You Listening to" threads that are either loved or hated, it seems. Also, people's music tastes change from time to time as they discover new stuff (which in my case is usually old bands). Why am I typing this? I guess for the inevitable weeping and gnashing of teeth that some have towards music threads. :p :D

My top 10 (constrained to just rock/electronic/pop/alternative music)
    1 - Pink Floyd
    2 - Led Zeppelin
    3 - The Cure
    4 - Queen
    5 - Roxy Music
    6 - The Who
    7 - Radiohead
    8 - Yes
    9 - Genesis
    10 - The Smiths

Honorable mentions: Blondie, The Police, Black Sabbath, Joy Division, New Order, Kraftwerk, Blur, The Rolling Stones, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Band, The Cult, AC/DC  ;) , Judas Priest, Wilco, Coldplay, Rush, King Crimson, Interpol, Sigur Ros, and The Flaming Lips

    What are your favorite bands?

I seriously need to actually start thinking about my replies before I post them. Put Counting Crows second and The Black Crowes 10th and move the last two out.

    That's my final answer. :D

I love listing my bands 'cause I'm all about lists (thank God for iTunes), and I think my favorites are pretty diverse. It's hard for me to rank a lot of them better than the other.

I do think, however, that Led Zeppelin is the best band of all time. They're way out ahead of all my other bands in terms of technical ability and talent of each individual member. Then, Stone Temple Pilots are my favorite modern band (not even close). Everyone should own a copy of their debut "Core."

After that, Green Day is for sure my third favorite band. I love how every single one of their songs is upbeat and can get me going anytime. "American Idiot" is FANTASTIC. After these 3 bands, though, it gets really blurry. I'm loving Audioslave's "Out of Exile," but I haven't got to hear it enough yet - they could be my 4th band by themselves soon.

    1. Led Zeppelin

    2. Stone Temple Pilots

    3. Green Day
    4-7. Alice in Chains
    4-7. Nirvana
    4-7. 311
    4-7. Audioslave
    8-15. Soundgarden
    8-15. Rage Against the Machine
    8-15. AC/DC
    8-15. Velvet Revolver
    8-15. JET
    8-15. Incubus
    8-15. Red Hot Chili Peppers
    8-15. Metallica

Too many honorable mentions to list.

    Rap:
    1. Ludacris
    2. 50 Cent
    3. Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz
    4. Eminem
    5. Lil' Scrappy & Trillville
    6. G-Unit (Lloyd Banks and Young Buck)
    7/8 Lil' Flip/Slim Thug
