Rewatched The Thing and Blade Runner over the weekend on bluray and have kind of been on an 80's kick since I've been picking up a lot of my favorites on bluray.

A lot of them are truly top notch films and it just seems like the 80s was a really fertile time for these type of films.

Just curious to read about everyone's favorites from the 80's.

Blade Runner was WAY ahead of the curve. Excellent flick.

Very much so, I'd forgotten how impressive it was until I watched it again.

I will excuse Empire Strikes Back, Superman II and Indiana Jones because they land more in fantasy flick then strict Sci-Fi.

    1) The Abyss
    2) Aliens
    3) Back to the Future
    4) Blade Runner
    5) Wierd Science

    No specific order...

A friend and I were talking about how surprised we are that The Thing has not been remade since they are remaking everything else right now.

    Star Trek 2
    Aliens

I can't decide which one is better though... probably Star Trek 2.

How can it not be Ghostbusters? This is still one of my all-time favorite movies. I still have this framed movie poster in my apartment from when I was a kid.

Also really liked Howard the Duck...

    What?

I would go with Star Trek II and IV.

I just recently watched this movie again because I really liked it when I was a kid. It is horrible. It's so bad, it's almost good.
