With the stuff he points out going on at Fox and CNN and MSNBC, I wonder what it takes to create a truly unbiased national newscast - or if the reason we don't have one is because ratings would tank ...

... maybe if we follow the french model:
    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0rkTkUjaXns&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0rkTkUjaXns&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

pretty girl + no idiotic "jokes" or "analysis" + just read what it says happened = bearable news + adequate ratings?

Um, I don't understand French, but I would watch that newscast over anything offered by news media in America.

Fox News didn't sponsor/promote the gay rights parade, does not support it ideologically, so that's no great surprise. Besides, per Glenn Beck himself, the 9/12 project totally got like a million (maybe even two) squeezed in on its march for freedom.

American news, and especially Fox, has the pretty blonde newsreader quotient down pat.

It's kinda sad, but now we need our supermodels to be hyper-aware/-intelligent/-curious to have even a chance at an informed citizenry.

Fortunately, there's CBS war correspondent Lara Logan:

This is expected. I try to watch Fox every now and then with the hope of being pleasantly surprised by what is offered, but everything is garbage, just like all of the network's hosts and disgusting personalities.I despise nearly everything Fox stands for. It's amazing how many people take Billo's rhetoric as fact, and I only mention him because he is the "face" of the channel and a "voice" for millions. Fair and balanced? No. More like a seesaw of lies from hell.

French girls are just sexy. They can be reading the dictionary or cursing at you and it would still turn me on.

Although I don't know what she said, but I am 1000% sure it is right.

Well considering FOX news is an anti-Obama, anti-Democrat, and anti-progressive (read gay) media outlet, does any of this come as a surprise?

FOX is not a news channel. It is an entertainment channel for radical right-wing-nuts.

Nothing compares with FOX. Frankly, I don't trust any cable news outlet anymore.

If you want decent reporting, listen to NPR. Otherwise, you have to read a conservative paper and a more liberal one. Like the NY Times and the Wall Street Journal.

Well, MSNBC openly admits they have an extreme liberal bias. they are not any better than Fox news to me. I personally don't watch any of them, but both channels are extreme. Only guys I watch on cable are Colbert and Stewart

the commentators at MSNBC are mostly left leaning (Maddow, Mathews, Olbermann), but if you watch ANY of these people, you see that they don't pull stuff out of their a$$ and present it as fact (see: Glenn Beck). Olbermann is a damn fine journalist who supports EVERY single opinion or point he has with concrete information and real life data/proof. unlike Glenn Beck, Bill O the clown, Hannity, etc... who just go "it's socialism, you know it!" or "they're setting up the camps to intern all of us free thinking americans, want proof? just look around you!".

you absolutely CANNOT compare MSNBC's reporting/commentating to the joke that is Fox "news". at least MSNBC actually report those little things called FACTS then offer opinion/comments on it, they don't just go on insane tirades that are purely for entertainment purposes and contain absolutely NOTHING substantial.

I just love how riled up some people get over FOX News Channel. I don't watch it at all but it's fun to watch some people start foaming at the mouth at the mere mention of the channel.

They get upset at a channel they don't watch when they don't cover their gay rally. Kind of like someone getting mad at BET for not covering the Stanley Cup finals ;)

Yeah, but there is a HUGE difference. MSNBC will at least report right-wing activites, even if their commentators rail against them. But Fox news doesn't even report it. They just ignore anything that doesn't align with their agenda. They present a censored version of reality, and their base just eats it up. It's sickening, and I'm glad the White House has taken a stance against it.

Hockey is a sport. BET doesn't cover sports.

Fox News is a news channel. Are you saying tens of thousands of people marching on Washington DC isn't news?

    Your analogy makes zero sense.
