Where is the accountability from Fox news and the right? All we heard about for weeks was Chris Cuomo but when a Fox host does something worse nothing happens. Compete one sighted garbage coming from the right. Fauci was already receiving death threats prior before anyone tries to comes back saying it is only a harmless metaphor.

I just watched the video. All he encouraged them to do was a "surprise" interview. It's not super crucial.

Should waters be fired for telling people to ask hard questions or should Fauci be fired for not getting much right in the last 2 years?

Telling someone to ambush and kill a public official isn't hard question, it's reckless behavior that should be fired by any reputable news agency. You are a growing part of the new cult that downplay violence toward people you are politically against.

Given he is already receiving death threats from people. Using the words killshot and boom he is dead is perfectly fine, People will understand the metaphors I am sure . What was the purpose of saying the metaphor in first place?

I dunno what do we need more of right now:

-People with decades of experience in science and medicine with a history of leading the fight against deadly diseases
-Political commentators who work for a network owned by a foreign billionaire who goes from country to country with the goal of destroying democracy

    ??????

Maybe we should give a little value to the weight of their contribution to society when we talk about who should get punished for being human and sometimes saying the not 100% accurate thing.

Fauci... as flawed a human as he might be (and we ALL are) at least wants to help make the world a safer place while someone who works as at FoxNews is actively working to divide Americans to hate each other. Don't believe me... turn on whatever show he hosts this evening and tell me that the who point of his first segment isn't about how evil Democrats are.

We shouldn't worship Fauci because he's just a guy trying to help whose knowledge of the past doesn't always acurately predict the future. He's not a god.

But he also deserves an ounce of respect, and human decency from people like you who instead buy into the propaganda that he's a villain out to destroy your life.

Waters should be fired for promoting the view that an unproven lab leak theory is somehow verified fact and encouraging people to mob someone with this “kill shot”.

What is it you have in mind that would count as “getting much right” as far as Fauci’s job? Encouraging everyone to go out and get COVID to build up “herd immunity”?

I do think Fauci should answer some questions similar to that but asking college students to confront him in public is a bad idea. Why would he give them the time of day?

He has been wrong quite a bit. Masks/ no masks/ double masks, no shutdown/ shutdown, no vaccine mandate/vaccine mandate, etc...

But thats not what he said though. He said ambush him for an interview, and that holding some grant paperwork and questioning him on it would be the "killshot".

It just seems like a reach. Like, if I'm at work, and I discover the answer to something, and I go "and boom goes the dynamite!" should they escort me out?

Why did he choose those words/phrases? He could have said the same thing without using ambush and kill shot.

Remember, there are ****ing morons in this country that show up at a pizza place fully armed to save kids from the pedophile ring and others who listen to the former idiot in charge and storm the Capitol even though he didn't specifically say storm the Capitol and stop the vote counting.

It's typically a reach and that was my very initial thought. Whatever, this is stupid. I changed my mind after thinking through it a bit more.

At most reputable private companies, those lines of statements made publicly to a large audience would get you fired.

In many public school environments, you are at least investigated if not immediately suspended for making any public statement to a room full of a classmate about “boom”, “kill shots” or similar imaginary.

In an environment of high political heat and plenty of death threats toward this particular public official, it crosses the line.

I’m probably also missing other environments but outside of those, I wouldn’t give a damn and would consider this just someone making stupid statements and stupid reactions.

I bolded the part where you're thinking wrong. Fox News isn't a reputable private company.

Honestly, I don't see much here. I don't even think its coded language. He's clearly articulating a strategy to embarrass Fauci and not advocating violence. Not the best choice of words but in no way would I think anyone sees this as inflammatory in regards to violence.

Don't know why these people make Fauci their enemy.

They consider Dr. Fauci the "enemy" because they are trump supporters and Fauci has criticized trump and his mishandling of the pandemic response. And they continue to hate him because he continues to speak against their position (anti-vax, anti-mask, anti social distancing).

Oddly enough, the very same people that complained when trump's circle were confronted at restaurants (which was wrong to do btw) now advising people to confront Fauci everywhere using violent terms (since he has been threatened).

Yes it's very hypocritical to first criticize confronting public servants and then encourage it.

But I disagree that there was anything wrong with the language used here. I mean he's coaching college students on how to confront him - in a non-violent way. I honestly didn't see anything wrong with this - he's not saying to go seek him out while he is dining or with his family. Seems to suggest to seek him out at speaking or media events.

Sorry, I just think this thread is much ado about nothing.
