Late hits, chop blocks, flagrant fouls, bean balls are what makes sports exciting. There is always a chance for a fight at the end of it. The little kid should have got up and fought back.
If you can accept that kids fight all the time and bullies pick on smaller kids, why can't you accept that fathers put the beat-down on some little punk occassionally?
It's people like you who have kids like #58 . Seriously though, I can imagine 58 being the kids that curses at his parents and all they say is, "I just don't know what to do with him." They need to learn that a swift kick in the ass will solve their problems.
And it's people like you who have whiny baby kids who don't fight their own fights because they expect mommy or daddy to fight for them. I'm in favor of corporal punishment, but there's a difference between spanking your own kids and taking swings at someone else's.
The play was dirty. A late hit does not justify a grown man running at full speed and shoving a forearm into a kid. The kids are the losers in this. Runt will be a bully's target. 58 will be treated as a victim and won't learn a lesson. The other kids witnessed a grown man acting like a child. Has the dad been contacted by Dr. Phil yet?
Relax, I'm joking -- mostly. Though kid-on-kid violence is not punished harshly enough most of the time.
*Totally*. That punk will be scanning the sidelines for angry dads for the rest of his playing career.
Wow, I have coached Pop Warner and was a referee for more than 10 years in San Marcos Youth football & Basketball. I am not surprised at all by this, though it saddens me. DD
Uh ... no. Murderers will exist, shall we accept them also? Apparently the negative effects of bullying have garnered a lot of attention lately and in many school districts it's qualifies for pretty severe penalties.
he was late for his arraignment so judge ordered him arrested hahahah i love it javascript:cnnVideo('play','/video/law/2006/09/08/ibarra.ca.football.brawl.dad.kcra','2006/09/15'); go to cnn for link to video
Shame on that dad for decking another man's son. Now, if that kid's own father had come out and decked him for that late hit, I might have applauded him. I miss Vic Morrow.
