A man's son got taken to Germany by his ex-wife. After 18 years, the son finds his younger stepbrother(half-brother?) on facebook. After several months of internet contact, he flies to Houston to reunite with his 2 younger brothers and father.

HOUSTON—After a nearly 20-year legal battle failed to reunite a Sugar Land man with his son, Facebook did.

Chris Byars said he and his ex-wife divorced in 1990. She took their son to Germany, and though Byars said he fought the move in court, an army of lawyers couldn’t unravel the international laws and allow father and son to unite.

But when the son, Cody Byars, turned 18, he took the matter into his own hands.

Through Facebook, the teen found his long-lost dad and the stepbrothers he never knew.

After months of Internet contact, Skype and phone calls, the family was finally reunited at Bush Intercontinental Airport on Saturday.

"It’s been something my husband has so looked forward to for so long, and it’s finally coming true," said Byars’ wife, Eleana, wiping away tears.

It was a long journey that spanned two continents and lasted nearly two decades, but on Saturday, it was over.

"This is my son. I’ve been waiting over 18 years. Finally, he got here. Finally," Chris Byars said.

Err...so it only took him a few months to find and contact his dad through facebook?

So he should still be 18-19 when they reunited?

But he was taken to Germany 20 years ago?

Then the dad says he's been waiting for 18 years?

Video wouldn't work for me so...if I missed anything

The divorced happened nearly 20 years ago. The terms "nearly" and "almost" would indicate it's less than 20 years, but it's still close to 20 years. She could have been pregnant during divorce proceedings also, which would make the legal battle 19 years.
