http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1627144 Roberts returns to NBA after 1999 ejection Toronto Raptors: Stanley Roberts signed with the Raptors on Tuesday, returning to the NBA after he was kicked out of the league in 1999 for failing a drug test. The NBA reinstated Roberts in January but no team signed him and the frequently injured 7-footer hooked up with the Harlem Globetrotters. Raptors general manager Glen Grunwald said the 33-year-old player will work out in Florida and may join the team after training camp, depending on his progress. Roberts, who played with Shaquille O'Neal at LSU, was drafted by the Orlando Magic in 1991 and spent eight seasons in the league. He also played for the Los Angeles Clippers and Minnesota and briefly with Houston and Philadelphia. He was suspended when he tested positive for an amphetamine-based substance but denied taking the drug. He then attempted to play for a Turkish team but was prevented from doing so by international basketball's governing body. His history of injuries includes two ruptured Achilles' tendons, bone spurs in his ankles, back surgery and shoulder surgery.
