    BillW: Time to check out tonight's Break Check fast break points. For every Fast Break point the Rockets score this season, Break Check will donate twenty dollars to the Boys and Girls clubs of greater Houston. Tonight, the Rockets have THREE POINTS, good for sixty dollars, the total donation so far this season, one hundred bucks!

    Two games, a grand total of five fast break points? Even for a team that doesn't run so much, that is just plain ridiculous. I think JVG needs to make a huge donation to make up for the one break check won't be giving...

    We really needs to run, I don't understand how we only got 3 fast break point with T-Mac on the team. Yao needs to learn how to throw the outlet pass, and T-Mac and JJ need to blast out to the opposite side once we got the board.

    Well, tonight our lack of fast break was cancelled out by our lack of transition defense.

    We were one of the best fast break teams before JVG came along, don't look for things to change any time soon. Unless...

    Really? We haven't been a good fast break team since Clyde left.

    Okay, you got me, not one of the best, but Cat and Steve were pretty unstoppable with the fastbreak under Rudy.

    Huh? :rolleyes:

    Yeah, they *stopped* themselves. Fast-breaks? Not many. Open court steals. Yes. But that's not what I call a fast-break.

    Last "fast-break" Rox team? Maxwell, Hakeem, Drexler, Cassell, Thorpe...but most of those were caused by Hakeem defense.

    If we could catch a long rebounds we could take off
    We don't have a speedy backcourt

    You're acting like JVG has nothing to do with our fastbreak problems. We were one of the worst fast break teams last season, and we have 5 fastbreak points in 2 games.

    Fast Breaks=Easy points

    Where's the defense?

    Defense=Fast Breaks=Easy points

    I agree we need to get up the court faster (half-court setups). But fast-breaks just don't occur from regular defensive rebounds. You need to start them off great D (shot block, steal). Next need would be a PG that was faster (not Ward, sometimes Lue).

    Don't forget we have a slow Yao that lugs along. He can't do that all game.

    After last season's low fast-break scoring, I'd have thought that Brake Check would change their promotion so that the money they donate isn't so embarrassingly little. I can probably afford to match their donation dollar for dollar. How about $20 for every defensive stop? Or, stick with the fast breaks, but donate $200 for each one.
