I got Farmer's Auto Insurance, seems like their rates are highter than other competitors like State Farm... and noticed bad service. What you guys think? Any comments?
You're not obligated to stay with them. Shop around. If you find a better quote/deal,start a new policy and cancel your old one. If you prepaid for 6 months, they'll prorate your refund.
I have Farmers. In 2006 when I was looking for new insurance, I looked at everybody I could find. I got my car insurance and renter's insurance cheaper than most companies wanted just for the car insurance. My rate was $30.00 a month cheaper than the State Farm policy I had before.
I've got an amazing rate with State Farm. Though, I got my parents discounts when I went out on my own. And for some reason, they have never ever checked my driving record. When I went in to start my own policy, the agent said "Well, it looks like you have a perfectly clean driving record." I was shocked because I had at least 3 tickets that year. I then proceeded to ask her what I should do with the Defensive Driving course completion certification I just got. She just took a copy of it and gave me another discount. 8 years and many tickets later...no rate increases.
I had Farmers a few years ago...My car rates went up $75-100 every year, and my home owners went up about the same. I dropped them and my rates are way better...probably save 300/year combined. As for the service, I never used it.
