Milwaukee trades: SF Tim Thomas (17.3 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 2.2 apg in 33.7 minutes) C Joel Przybilla (0.2 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 0.6 apg in 6.6 minutes) PG T.J. Ford (7.2 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 6.5 apg in 28.1 minutes) SF Marcus Haislip (2.6 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 0.1 apg in 8.2 minutes) Milwaukee receives: PG Steve Francis (17.2 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 5.2 apg in 38.9 minutes) PF Maurice Taylor (10.9 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 1.1 apg in 26.6 minutes) Change in team outlook: +0.8 ppg, -2.4 rpg, and -3.1 apg. Houston trades: PG Steve Francis (17.2 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 5.2 apg in 38.9 minutes) PF Maurice Taylor (10.9 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 1.1 apg in 26.6 minutes) Houston receives: SF Tim Thomas (17.3 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 2.2 apg in 18 games) C Joel Przybilla (0.2 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 0.6 apg in 5 games) PG T.J. TRADE ACCEPTED --------------------------------------------------------------------------- For all the trades I've scoffed at, I shouldn't be posting these... but frankly I need the therapy. The Rockets are just bringing me down, and I just want something for X-mas!
This seems ok..a good PG with brains-TJ a scoring Thomas.. If you worry about PF.. then we could sign braggs again which can alternate with Ford..... I feel so depressed about this team right now!
If you consider the 4 starters in the deal, Milwaukee would get +3.6 PPG. If you went with career averages for the Rockets players, they would be getting +8.2 PPG because of the current scoring slumps. I doubt TJ will ever average 16 PPG which would equal the deal out in that respect. Most people think that SF could be an all-star shooting guard. TJ Ford is a risk. He might not ever become a good shooter, which he would need to be to carry a team. The Rockets would be counting on Yao to carry them after this, while Milwaukee would be counting on SF. Hopefully the Piatkowski, Jackson, and Mobley could buffer the loss in scoring, especially with an offense that was efficient.
yea okay, both moT and SF will be out of contracts in 2-3 years...milwaukee would never do this...plus sf is paid the max...no way they'd buy that...and TJ Ford is the future of thier team...god what a stupid trade idea
Like this would ever happen, but I was thinking about it earlier... Francis/Mobley for Peja/Bobby Jackson Salaries? Sac would never be that crazy.
Well, it is Xmas. Anyway, for the same reasons why we probably wouldnt trade Yao for Shaq. The Bucks probably wouldnt trade Ford for Francis.
Wrong. Years remaining: Steve Francis - 5 Mo Taylor - 3 TJ - 3 Thomas - 2 By that logic it would make sense for them. TJ isn't the future of any team. He just can't score enough points. He might run an offense better than anyone in the league in a few years, but he'll be nothing if he has to carry the team.
Would anyone do this trade? Would Seattle? Houston trades: PG - Steve Francis PF - Maurice Taylor PF/C - Kelvin Cato Houston recieves: SG - Ray Allen PG - Luke Ridnour C- Calvin Booth C - Vitaly Potapenko I'd do it if Seattle would.
I would do it. Only if Seattle would.. I want Ray Allen because he can shoot. And he's still fairly young. He can still play. He and Mobley would be good. Francis would be another star for the Sonics...and Taylor and Cato are better than any of the big men on their team I think..besides Rashard..who is a small forward. I wish we could do that trade.
JayZ - Ask yourself this question.... How good would the Rockets be if they added Rashard Lewis, Brent Barry, Flip Murray, and Vlade Radmanovic but had to play Cato and Jerome James at Center due to a Yao season ending injury? IMO, playoff good. And that's what you've transformed Seattle into with your trade. Seattle would take your deal in a heartbeat. * Allen has yet to play a 2003-04 game. * Allen make is over $14m in 04-05 and is FA in the summer of 2005 when Mobley (who you've put on the bench) has a Player Option. * The Rockets starting PF is...? * The Rockets would have 4 Centers...one of Potapenko or Booth (both have MLE type contracts) would probably be gone in the expansioin draft diminishing the incoming value. IMHO, you've fallen in love with Ray Allen's shot and Luke Ridnour's potential.
Milwaukee would give away Thomas, and his crazy contract, if they could. They didn't even want to keep Ray Allen, because of Ray's contract, and Ray was the cornerstone. This is an owner that almost sold the team to MJ, not Mark Cuban.
Any team is killed by injuries. You have to plan on healthy Yao when team building. No one's going anywhere in the playoffs with a missing star. Ray Allen can play the point better than Steve Francis. He had 7 assists and 20+ points last night in his first game back in under 30 minutes. Allen/Yao is a perfect combination; both would maximize their talents. Consider some of the extra dough you pay Allen over Francis Yao money. Frahm also dropped 30 the other day - don't forget to look at him. IF we can move Cat + for more help up front - to NY for Thomas, or Indy for Harrington, or otherwise shore up those spots with journeymen - the team will be much much better, with much better spacing, and much more room to operate.
I like Ray Allen to Rashard Lewis, but I'd take what you're offering any day of the week and twice on Sunday. What would we be giving up in return (Francis, Taylor...)
Frahm is just about lights out from behind the arc. He is Gonzaga's all-time leader in three-point field goals.
