Ok its Round one in my money keeper league (we kepth Shaun Alexander).

    Here are the keepers:

    Faulk
    Martin
    George
    Rod Smith
Troy Brown (yes they had that sh!tty of a team last year)
    Manning
    Moss
    Warner
    Edgerrin James
    Ricky Williams
    Jeff Garcia
    Shaun Alexander

Here are the draft picks so far:

    1. Owens
    2. Harrison
    3. Green
    4. Stephen Davis

Our pick is coming up at 6. I would really like to grab a RB like Holmes, Tomlinson, or Dillon. The question is: which one? They all had great years last year, similar in some sense.

Or do we go with a top notch QB like Culpepper. My thoughts are that RB's are damn thin this year so I would like to get our 2 starting RB's locked and stocked.

    Comments?

I think that there are TONS of QBs so I would wait on getting one. Culpepper is tempting, but if you wait you can still get one like McNabb, Bledsoe, Brooks, etc..
As for the Wrs, I think that after the BIG THREE (owens, Moss, Harrison) there is a big dropoff. I think Boston could be good but Not with the pick you have.

If you get a RB then you are SET there and when there is another Run at RB, you can just pick off the WR or QB of your choice. I would go with LT. With Tomlinson and Alexander, you get two of the top 10, MAYBE top 5 at the end of the year, RBs. With MArty in San Diego I think Tomlinson will be huge. Holmes and Dillon might also be very good, but I just think there is a Bigger UPSIDE with LT.

I would definately go RB with this pick. Why? Three top WR were kept in Brown, Moss, and R. Smith, while Harrison was already taken. Three top QB were also kept in Warner, Garcia, and Manning. There are going to be decent players at both positions available later.

With only 6 RB kept and half of the teams in the league needing at least 2 running backs, it makes sense to weaken the pool for them. Not only that, but besides Culpepper, all of the best players remaining are running backs - primarily the three you mentioned.

Priest Holmes - led the league in all-purpose yards last year, as I recall. Touchdowns were taken away to some extent by Gonzalez and Richardson, something that looks likely to remain this season. With an improved passing attack, it's unlikely Holmes will be featured quite as much as last season; however, he is still going to rack up a lot of yards.

LaDanian Tomlinson - the Chargers offense is still anemic, plus has a QB battle to boot. That means Tomlinson is going to see a lot of carries, but with a somewhat suspect O-line and his youth, he may be limited in the yard level he reaches this year. However, as the primary TD threat, he'll score well for you there.

Corey Dillion - similar situation as Tomlinson, except with a better offensive line and slightly better passing attack. He's experienced, a workhorse, and likely to see a bump in his yards and touchdowns this season.

Of the three, I'd take Dillon before the others, followed by Holmes and Tomlinson. Any of the three would be nice complements to Alexander...I just think Dillon will be the best of them all this season.

Unless teams panic, top WR and QB should be available later on as the other teams are looking to clear out the remaining running backs.

I would definitely go with Corey Dillon.

By the way, Pro Football Weekly's "Fantasy Sleepers of the Year" (based on editor's opinions) are DeShaun Foster (rookie RB from Carolina), Clinton Portis (rookie RB from Denver), Koren Robinson (WR from Seattle), Tim Couch (QB from Cleveland), Joey Galloway (WR from Dallas), and Travis Henry (RB from Buffalo). Just a heads up.

    Sleeper picks

    DILLON!

His schedule is a joke....his line is solid....the D is better....his qb situation can't get any worse.

Drewdog...dont take Culpepper...like it has been said, there a lot of QB's out there to be had. Not to emntion, Culpepper doesnt have much a a running game and the loss of Carter is going to hurt...wespecially when D Alexander misses games due to injury.

I'd go with Holmes or Curtis Martin...Martin catches a lot of passes in addition to rushing for a ton of yards...he is the main man on that offense.

i had my draft yesterday too... i was in a 12 team league and had the last pick in the first round (thus also the first pick in the second round... two consecutive picks)

well, for some odd reason 75% of the teams went with a QB in the first round... so Shaun Alexander and Ricky Williams fell to me at my two picks! I am so ecstatic! :D

SWEET! I have Tim Couch! But I also have Brett Favre, which one should I start? Should I trade Tim for a better WR?

I currently have Marty Booker, Marcus Robinson, and Ike Hilliard at WR

RB - Anthony Thomas and Ron Dayne...

    Good Pick DrewDog

Garcia, Warner, McNabb, Favre, Culpepper, Manning, Gannon. 7/12, not quite 75%... chalk it up to my fuzzy memory.

Holmes, Moss, Faulk, and Green were the other guys taken before me.

I don't know what happened. These guys know football, but after 2 people went for qbs (Warner, Garcia) it seemed that everyone panicked and went QB crazy!!!! I mean Favre and Gannon before Alexander or Williams???? CRAZY!!!!

No, no money involved, just a fun league between friends. too bad, i think i could have cleaned up! :)

    Dude. You wanna squab? ;)

I would have drafted Sweetness, McMahon, Singletary, Dent, Hampton, and the whole '85 Bears if I could have.

I am a die-hard Bears fan, that usually screws me in any football pool or fantasy league. I did pretty good last year though. :D

I actually only have the 3 Bears listed above and I took their Defense also and I got Baltimore's D. This is for the CC.Net Football League.

Just breakin balls Sonny....if you ask me, I'd trade Marcus Robinson for another RB instead of Dayne. Booker seems to be turning into the #1 guy there (you would probably know that better than me)

I know you were man, thus the ;)

I think MRob could have a breakout year, he is finally healthy and we have a QB that likes to go deep. Can't give up hope yet. I wouldn't mind getting another RB though. Not really any good ones left, might try to trade.

There are a few WR's left in my league that are interesting.

    Germane Crowell
    Michael Westbrook

both are coming off bad yrs and could come back nicely?

also Bill Schroeder in Det is avg 1000yds a season over the past 3yrs.

    who knows though...

isn't this thread in the wrong forum anyways??? :)
