    Here is the deal:

I trade: Shaun Alexander and Torry Holt

He trades: Rich Gannon and Curtis Martin

    My Lineup:

QB Rich Gannon (I currently have Fiedler, Green, and B Johnson)
    RB Corey Dillon
    RB Curtis Martin
    WR Hines Ward
    WR Ed McCaffrey
WR Rod Gardner and pick up David Patten off of waivers
    K Vinateri
    DEF Pats

    His Lineup:
    QB Tom Brady
    RB LaDanian Tomlinson
    RB Shaun Alexander
    WR Peerless Price
    WR Quincy Morgan
    WR Plaxico Burres
    K Elam

I was thinking Price and Martin for Holt and Alexander. Dont need another QB although it would be nice to have Gannon.

FYI our leage gives pts for yardage and TD's and subtracts for INT's and fumbles.

    Comments???

I had Alexander last year - I wish I had him this year. I would hold on to him and Torry Holt. I think they are both going to dramatically improve their numbers.

Would he not start Torry Holt if he got him?? You're showing him starting Price, Burress, and Morgan.

I wouldn't do that trade either. Seattle finally got their stud OT back in Walter Jones, so I say it is a matter of time before Shaun Alexander starts having some huge games.

Do the trade in which you get Gannon and martin. Youll have you rb's set since you got dillion and martin. your qbs are suspect in fielder, green, and johnson. gannon would be perfect in a yds and td league in which none of your other qbs can consistently do without Ints. Are tds worth as much for qbs as the other position players? If they are, then definitely get gannon.

don't give up on Alexander yet!

I have him in all my leagues and I think he'll come around sooner or later. Same for Holt. No way that Rams offense can stay in a prolonged slump!

I am sad that I used a #2 overall pick on Alexander though. To think that I doubted my boy Priest (thinking last year may have been a fluke!)

    No trade.

Gannon and Martin is a downgrade from Alexander and Holt.
Price and Martin is a definite downgrade from Alexander and Holt.

Rich Gannon - Good quarterback, great fantasy numbers, suspect O-Line
Curtis Martin - Dud all year, might not play this weekend, LaMont Jordan getting a bigger role in the running game (and stealing carries away from him)
Shaun Alexander - Dud to date, but absolutely due to break out (yeah, that's what they ALL say, I know, but he's on my team, too, so I'm optimistic...)
Torry Holt - Great receiver, led the league in receiving yards 2 years ago, had a terrific game last Monday, Rams will come around eventually
Peerless Price - Good receiver, but he's still #2 behind Moulds

Call me crazy, but I'd start Jay Fiedler this week. He's had a damn good year so far, and he plays the Chiefs this week. Plus, Chris Chambers will eventually get his TDs and yards, making Fiedler that much better.

Suspect O-Line? Vecsey do you even you what the hell you are talking about? The Raiders offensive line is one of the best and deepest units in the league with Pro Bowler Lincoln Kennedy, Pro Bowl caliber Center Barrett Robbins, This line is so deep that former 1st round pick Matt Stinchcomb can't even crack the lineup. And I hope you are not basing your theory on the fact that The Steelers sacked Gannon a few times, The Steelers 3-4 scheme calls a blitz basically 3/4 of the time, sacks are inevitable.

As for your trade, Martin will probably not even play this week and who knows after that. Alexander has become the only focus of every defense he has faced so far. Peerless Price will put up better numbers than Eric Moulds, I guarantee it. He leads the NFL in receiving yards as of now.

Not to mention that if you throw more passes, you're going to get sacked more... didn't he throw some 60 odd passes or something outrageous like that?

Right, They Threw the ball 64 times that night (63 by Gannon) If you're dropping back that many times it pretty certain you're gonna give up a few sacks.

You are not crazy at all. Fiedler may be a mediocre QB by Kansas City has about the worst secondary in the league. The secondary was bad before this week and now they have several injuries. Check out the KC box scores for the 1st three games and you will know what I am talking about.

    Week 1: D gave up 39pts – Kelly Holcomb 27/39 ,326yds 3td, 0int
    Week 2: D gave up 23pts – Mark Brunell 25/36, 320yds, 2td, 0int
    Week 3: D gave up 41pts – Tom Brady 39/54, 410yds, 4td, 1int

As for the trade that’s a though call. You get an upgrade at QB, a wash at RB and downgrade a receiver. You may want to wait a week on this because even if you make the trade it would be smart to start Fiedler over Gannon.

Ah, hell. I got the Raiders mixed up with the Dolphins on that one. However, Gannon does drop back to pass quite a bit, leaving him open to sacks. At age 36, he could be one hard hit away from the IR. He's not injury-prone, like Rob "Glass" Johnson, but he is old. (God forbid, if that happened, I like Marques Tuiasosopo's chances.) Still, I wouldn't do that trade.

I'll take you up on your guarantee, Moe. Eric Moulds is better than Peerless Price and will end up with more yards at the end of the season. The guy's a freaking stud.

    Thanks for the advice gurus.

I think I am just going to play it out this week and see how things go. God I hope the Seahawks start playing better!

If anything my team has had a stroke of bad luck and we are 0-3 right now. Kinda sucks, but hey you never know what will happen.

Keep Alexander. Dilfer had that offense humming at the end of last year and figures to help out the running game. Your running backs in the other trade scenario have too many question marks. Curtis Martin is still banged up and all of the carries in the last few years may have caught up with him. He looks like an old man out there right now. Dillon has always been really inconsistent and figures to stay that way with the worst set of quarterbacks this side of Channelview High School. If you don't need Gannon keep your team together.

Try Alexander and McCaffrey. You can pitch it to him as if McCaffrey will put up his typical numbers, although I don't think he will this(I've got McCaffrey in my league).

Ah, But you forgot once thing, Peerless is in a contract year. Moulds is a fine Receiviner ala Isaac Bruce but Peerless is more explosive like Torry Holt who doesn't get all the catches but gets more yards. Plus He is on 2 of my fantasy teams :)

    While this thread is up...

... How's Peerless looking, moe? Only 15 yards receiving this week? Moulds had, what, 119 yards? Moulds leads the team in receiving. He's also the clearcut #1 there.

Ike Hilliard, like Price, is also in a contract year, yet Toomer (a definite #1 receiver) has more yards than him. Hmmmmm. Oddily familiar situation. The #1 receiver getting more yards than the #2? Gasp. Who'd have thunk it? :D

Geez, its the 4th game of the season, not week 15. Moulds - 413, Price - 367, Thats only 50 yards behind, and 1 of there guys is putting up 100+ games every game. I figure it should come out like this - Moulds - 112 rec. 1487 yards, Price - 106 rec. 1515 yards. Add Reed with around 700-800, If Bledsoe stays healthy I think Marino's record is gone (thank God i picked Drew in the 3rd round this year)

Oakland at Buffalo should be intriging. They will probably put Phillip Buchanon on Peerless and keep Tory James on Moulds, Rod Woodson has been playing out of his mind at FS with 3 INT's last game and 3 Fumble Recoveries game before that. I look for Woodson to come over and help on Moulds leaving Price and Reed on the weak side with Derrick Gibson at SS. The Raiders might get a taste of their own medicine with a team like Buffalo who throws a lot. and with Charles Woodson still out, They will be throwing on a lot. Its looks like that Game could break records if Callahan decides to throw it all day again like he did the past 2 weeks.
