Well, Fantasy B-Ball is coming and with that I started thinking who would I pickup 1st. Yao or Steve? Obviously a lot depends on the settings of the league but in general terms who would you grab.

    Yao or Steve?

I think I'd pick Yao ahead of Steve since Centers are hard to come by but he's definitely a larger risk than Steve who has consistently put up numbers.

i dont know how you could pass on boki. ;)

tough call really. depends on who are the other centers in the league. some leagues let some tall forwards become centers. which puts yao ming's stock lower.

the traditional center needs to have high fg%, high rebounds, high blocks, low tos.
the traditional point guard is for high assists, good 3s total, high ft%, high steals.

francis is not a typical pg, and yao might become a passing center.

    i think i'd take francis.

Francis is a proven fantasy commodity.

Lots of people had similiar numbers to Yao (even some rookies). Go with Franics!!!

It is a tough call. Francis did wonders for my fantasy team last year, but like you said, centers are hard to come by nowadays.

But still, I'd probably take Steve, because his stats are more respectable (and they should only get better this year!) Not that Yao's are bad, but if all this is true about him being injured and worn out, he might not be as valuable come fantasy season.

Take Francis first, no question. If it's me drafting, I'd take Steve in the first and then Yao in the 3rd of 4th. Since it is a regular league though, you could get Steve in the second round or at the end of the first, and Yao won't go till third at the earliest.
