This movie actually looks like its going to be ok...

Damn, I hate it when you like an actress before they are well known and all of a sudden, they are like a goddess to everybody...

Ive liked Jessica Alba since I saw her in the Flipper TV series back in the mid 90s and when she was in Never Been Kissed and Idle Hands... :)

Yeah, that doesn't really look like it's going to be a traditional Fantastic Four story... looks too MTV.

But Marvel's film outings this decade have kicked all sorts of ass, so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.

The Thing looks more like the original design from the early early early issues. I prefer the more cartoonier thick eyebrowed version, but I guess that wouldn't translate well to a live-action film.

Interesting that they've scrapped Dr. Doom's origin. I hope they have a suitable story for him as he's only the greatest comic book villain of all-time.

That bugged me too. I mean, sure some changes have to be made, like when they made him the head of a huge company instead of the ruler of made up country, but making him get powers like the F4 doesn't sit well with me. I'm sure people are thinking "your complaining that he gets the power to grow organic metal armor in the same movie where the other characters are a rock man, a stretchy guy, an invisible girl, and a guy who can flame on?

    Real name: Victor Von Doom
    Occupation: Monarch
    Identity: Public
Legal status: King of Latveria, with full diplomatic immunity in the United States
Place of birth: Gypsy camp outside of Haasenstadt, Latveria
    Group affiliation: None
First appearance: FANTASTIC FOUR Vol. 1, #5.

History: Victor Von Doom was raised by gypsies in a small European county called Latveria. He lost both of his parents at a very young age. Swearing revenge, Victor began to increase both his scientific and mystical knowledge with such determination that he was given a full scholarship to Empire State University. It was at ESU that Victor met Reed Richards and Ben Grimm, and where he started his extradimensional research. Doom's vanity prevented him from adjusting the schematics to one of his experiments, and the end result was an explosion that scarred Victor for life. Expelled from school, Victor began to travel the world, eventually stumbling upon a village of Tibetan monks who trained him and crafted him a suit of body armor, complete with face plate. He soon returned to Latveria, overthrew the government and crowned himself King. Ruling with an iron fist, Doom began to turn the resources of his small nation to his plans of world domination.

    Height: 6 ft. 2 in.
    Weight: 225 lbs.
    Eyes: Brown
    Hair: Brown

Known Superhuman Powers: While in his armor, Dr. Doom can lift (press) approximately 2 tons. He is one of the smartest men in the world and has an almost endless variety of weapons and equipment at his disposal. At the very least, Doom's armor contains a force field and concussion beams -- though more weapons may also be included. Dr. Doom also has the ability to switch minds with another person and he possesses a small amount of mystical knowledge as well.

In this movie, he's Mr. Fantastic's college rival and the head of a big company that funds his experiment in space. He goes with them on the flight (actually, from the trailer it looks like this happens on a space station instead of a spaceship) that gives them their super powers and gets his own super powers. So instead of wearing a suit of armor, he grows one.
