Mine : Game 1 : The Yao Ming Vs Shaq 2003 Bets - Charles Barkley kisses a Donkey butt Do you guys remember that game "In the First Yao Ming Vs Shaq" contest. Against La Lakers where Yao Ming Block Shaq's ball a few times. Man i was so pump up for that game. Everyone at the bar was going nuts that day when he blocked shaq's ball. The rockets actually won it, that had to be the best game ive seen in awile since the old days with Clyde and Dream. There was alot of excitement after the game like the rockets won a playoff game. Ming had 20 points. It sure was fun to watch
we just had one of these threads like two weeks ago.....I say we call this thread "your favorite regular season game of all-time." Mine would be the first time Seattle came to Houston during the 1993-1994 season. Seattle was 16-1, and the Rockets were 18-1 that game had a playoff atmosphere and the Rockets held on to beat the team that beat them in the 93 playoffs 82-75. There has never been a regular season game IMO quite like that one.
I haven't been a Rockets fan for very long. I just started liking them cause Pippen came, then I became a huge Francis fan. But my favorite game was no doubt the Rockets vs. Lakers game where Steve went off on Kobe for 44 and 11. I even copied that game onto DVD so I can watch it without wearing the tape out!
the LA game was this past season when they came to Houston. That had to be the best game of the year. All in all, I think the best game was when Dream school David Robinson on our way to our 2nd championship.
i thought we faced seattle when we were 22-1 and they were 21-2 and it was like the best record two opponents had ever had when facing each other that far into a season in league history. and then we lost. or did that also happen and we also faced them at 16-1 and 18-1?
A game a few years ago in Oakland the Rockets were without Dream b/c of injury and a couple other guys also. Then Mad Max and I think Horry both got ejected they were stuck with 9 ballers and almost no bench playas. They won the game and C. Murph refered to them as the "Nasty 9". They won that game with heart!
Of all the Rockets games I've watched over the past 13 years or so, I'd have to say my favorite one was the triple overtime game against Indy a couple seasons ago. That game was just fun to watch. If any of you guys have this one on tape, I'd love to buy a copy.
This may have been the game whre Sam Mack scored 38 points at Golden State... ..or you may have been refering to the 93-94 season at Sacramento when Hakeem was suspended and Max got ejected...the Rockets ripped the Kings that night 122-101
I see almost every Rocket game, so I can't clearly remember all of them specifically, but one that sticks out is the one like Just B said when Francis torched the Lakers for 44/11. His performance and the game itself was something special. Great plays, great atmosphere, and one of the people I went to the game with is a a huge Laker fan so I was up in his face the whole time, it was awesome. One of the most enjoyable parts was that sorry excuse for a coach Jackson getting T'd for arguin the Flagrant Shaq had on SF (later found not to be a flagrant) well the FF and T ended up being the game haha, classic. Also, meant to say that I loved that game so much I recorded the replay on 51 on my Tivo, awesome game.
Favorite game? Heck, that's easy. Game 7 vs. the Knicks to win it all. The game itself was typical Knicks-Rockets ugly-ball, but what a memorable outcome... The Kiss-Of-Death game was pretty incredible, too. It just felt sooooo nice to stick it to Phoenix.
THis statement can't be made without also referring to the triple overtime game against Indiana a couple of years back. Even Moochie was great that game.
I watched Rockets games in 1995 and again last season. Yao Shaq I is the classic (It was shown on ESPN Classic a week later). The atmosphre was totally electric. Yao's 3 blocks on Shaq's first 3 attempts were my favorite moments. Reading pages and pages of moaning about refs in Lakersground forum was a close second.
