We need to collectively take a deep breath and relax.

The basketball season is a marathon. There will be highs and lows. I know it hurts to lose close games, but that is all apart of growing. This is a team trying to get an identity. These are players trying to learn how to play together. They are going to make mistakes. As long as they play hard and show some improvement, that's all you can ask, and they have shown improvement. They still have a long way to go.

So let's just take the season game by game. It's tempting to look at the talent and project how good the team can be. But I have seen a lot of talk of Championships here, and I think that is very premature. We have to all realize how difficult it is to win in this league. Of course we think we should have beaten Washington last night, but they are fighting for their playoff lives too. And they have veterens that have been in these situations hundreds of times. They know how to win close ballgames. We are still figuring it out.

It seems that lately we as fans here are falling into camps behind our favorite players and against other players - especially the Steve/Yao debate. The truth is, that they make the game easier for each other. Without Yao, Steve would be getting more doubleteams, and without Steve and Cat on the perimeter, Yao would be collapsed on. They are going to need to maximize all of their skills to be successful. There are going to be games when Yao has a big advantage and we need to milk it. There will be others where Steve has a big advantage on his man and we should milk that. Or Cat, or Mo. Whoever.

So, why don't we just enjoy the games, root for our team, wish them the best, and see where they are at the end of the year. Then evaluations will be made.

    Just my 2 cents worth...
