A few months ago Jeff, an esteemed member of the Clutch Team, posted his offering of a fight song for The Houston Texans. I, too, have created such an offering. Jeff and I actually discovered long ago that we had both done work on a Texans oriented song but the direction of the songs was totally different. His was more of a ‘Fight’ song and mine was more of a ‘Theme’ song (If there is a difference). I would greatly appreciate any commentary you guys have to offer. Chance, It's great! The only part that I didn't really like was the chorus line "Don't mess with the Texans." It seems too mellow & wimpy for the song. If you could make the line more forceful, it'd be perfect. I'd also drop the intro reference to the "Luv Ya' Blue" song. It's funny, but imho it'll never get played in the new stadium.
Ht, Yeah, it was hard. I really like the line but it was hard to "toughen" up. I played it at my old high school for the student council and they loved it. The girls liked the chorus better than the verses and the guys were just the opposite. Thanks for your review. clm
While it is virtually guaranteed that the Dallas Houston games will be good rivalries, I don't know if it is necessarily a good idea to single out one team in the theme song of the Texans. Otherwise, I like it. Some really sharp lyrics in there.
I like it. I disagree with you Raven Lunatic I think mentioning the Cowboys is cool. I dont know how big the rivalry will be but I am a NC State Fan and NCSU has a big rivalry with UNC-CH and in the NC State fight song there is a line, "Go To Hell Carolina" which everybody thinks is cool.
Let's PLEASE don't make this a Chance's version vs. Jeff's. They are obviously totally different. By the way, I LOVE using back to back adverbs. Anyway, Jeff and I have talked about joining forces on some stuff. I truly appreciate the feedback from everyone. Chance
