I don't know if this has been posted yet, but apparently a couple of jackasses at a Rangers game thought it would be cute to threaten to blow up a guy's house and his family

<i>McLemore's home allegedly threatened with bombing

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Police are investigating a threat allegedly made to Seattle Mariners utility player Mark McLemore during Tuesday night's game at The Ballpark in Arlington.

McLemore, who played center field that night, said several spectators in the center-field bleachers shouted that they'd "blow up" his home in a suburb of Fort Worth.

A former Texas Rangers second baseman, McLemore said he was troubled that the spectators knew his address. He alerted umpires during the eighth inning of Seattle's 13-2 win over the Rangers, and two spectators were removed from the stadium.

Ballpark security alerted Arlington police, who filed a terroristic threat report.

Arlington police Sgt. James Hawthorne said police planned to speak with McLemore about the incident and two fans who were involved, but no arrests had been made.

"At this point, it's going to follow the normal investigative process," Hawthorne said Thursday. "We'll make decisions down the road as to the legitimacy of the events as they may have occurred."

Mariners manager Lou Piniella removed McLemore from the game after the eighth inning. Major League Baseball security escorted him to his home and searched his property, but found nothing unusual.

Mariners spokesman Jason Carr said the team had no comment on the matter.

"I don't take that stuff lightly," McLemore told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "I've played for 15 years, and I'm used to heckling. But that wasn't about baseball. That was about my family, and they're the most important thing to me."

Ooops just realized I spelled threatening wrong! :)

By the way it's not in this article, but Jim Rome said on his show that the Police were considering charging the guys with "terrorist threats". It's more then they deserve for pulling garbage like this!

Here's a story of another jackass:

    WIRE: 09/27/2001 9:57 pm ET

Airliner returns to Los Angeles under F-16 escort after passenger incident

    The Associated Press

LOS ANGELES (AP) A passenger allegedly uttered an anti-American threat during a confrontation with flight attendants Thursday, prompting an airliner to return to Los Angeles under escort by Air Force jet fighters.
The FBI identified the passenger as Javid Naghani, an Iranian citizen in the United States legally. He was in custody Thursday evening being questioned by investigators, said FBI spokeswoman Laura Bosley.

Authorities would not describe the threat.

"Shortly after departure a male passenger was apprehended smoking in the lavatory," said Nicole Couture-Simard, spokeswoman for Air Canada in Montreal. "The passenger became verbally abusive and uttered an anti-American threat."

The confrontation aboard Air Canada Flight 792 to Toronto was resolved without further incident, and the plane landed safely less than an hour after takeoff, authorities said.

Naghani was traveling on the Boeing 767 with a woman. She was also being questioned but was not under arrest, Bosley said.

A third man was being questioned as a material witness, said Nancy Castles, an airport spokeswoman.

Couture-Simard said it was not necessary to restrain the passenger.

"The pilot elected to return to Los Angeles as a precautionary measure only," she said.

There were 145 people on the plane, including a crew of seven, said Nancy Castles, an airport spokeswoman. The jet returned to the airport around 1:15 p.m. and passengers were booked on the next flight.

Two F-16s escorted the Air Canada flight into the airport, authorities said. Castles said the jets were likely responding to a Federal Aviation Administration request after the pilot of the 767 described the situation to the FAA.

The incident occurred as Gov. Gray Davis was traveling to an airport press conference on a shuttle bus.

"We were about five minutes out of Lot C when those two jets buzzed the airport, so we knew something was up," said Davis, who announced a call-up of National Guard troops to bolster security, then took a flight to San Francisco to demonstrate confidence in air travel.

While I can see how he would be troubled that someone who was threatening him knew where he lived, but it's like it's that hard to find his address (even easier now since the radio guys kept noting that he lives in Southlake).
