Hello I thought I would make this thread for all the fellow Indians on this board. Though there are not many, here are some famous Indian Athletes. Iron Man Manjit Singh International Gymnast Rajinder Prasad International Weight Lifter Sandip Kumar Parminder Singh Sr. Undefeated Cruiserweight Boxer and 2000 Olympian Gurcharan "Guru" Singh
You should all check out this article on Guru Singh. He defected India and now is considered a deserter, he can never go back and if he does he will face serious jail time. Fascinating piece. http://specials.rediff.com/sports/2004/aug/10sld1.htm
Seems like all the Indian athletes you named are Punjabi, slickvik...does this have anything to do with the world-domination of OCP?
Do you speak Punjabi? Both of my parents do, but I can't speak it. All I know is "tu wada kee haal e?"
Charles Albert "Chief" Bender, Baseball Hall of Famer, inventor of the slider, World Series badass. “If I had all the men I’ve ever handled, and they were in their prime,” said Connie Mack, who managed Lefty Grove, Herb Pennock, Eddie Plank and Rube Waddell, “and there was one game I wanted to win above all others, Albert would be my man.” http://www.nickelcurves.com/essays_comments.php?id=38_0_5_0_C
Back in the 70's, wasn't there a top-notch professional tennis player from India? Seems like he went from there into the film industry...
Yea, I can speak it fluently. I used to not speak it so much but as you get older I realized it was a great skill to have. I can speak some Hindi and Urdu, but usually I get mixed up and start saying Punjabi words instead. Punjabi, Urdu and Hindi are all similar, if you understand one you can understand all of them. My project this summer is to learn how to read/write Punjabi, nobody ever taught me when I was younger.
