Anyone going to this? Not a fan of any of the bands, but my band is opening on the main stage. If anyone going to this, look out for clutchfan member. mike
That's an odd name for a band, but OK... Seriously, you might get a better reaction if you tell us the name of your band and post pictures of your girlfriend's and their boobs. I'm just sayin'...
I'll be there with my girlfriend, we're both huge Deftones fans, and she's gotten into Flyleaf lately and I've been into Dir en Grey for the last few years, so it should be a good show for us! Now if only Incubus was headlining instead of Korn...
why would incubus headline a tour that korn started back in 98? korn is a better band imo but its different genre and the family values tour isnt really meant for the incubus crowd imo
No kidding? My friend from Pasadena totally introduced me to eyeagainst this past year, and I love the music. You guys are easily one of the best metalcore bands in Houston, ranked up there with The Last Starfighter. That's really cool that you're a part of that band, you fellows make exceptional music. Hope to see a show one of these days.
I KNOW Korn started it. But you're right Incubus would just be way out of place on the Family Values Tour... Oh... wait... have you checked that tour line up from '98 lately? Incubus was there. I just meant that my girlfriend and I were getting to see abunch of bands we really like in one show, and if our absolute favorite band (Incubus) was headlining it instead of a band we're indifferent to (Korn), it would make it damn near perfect. <troll> And Korn is definitely the better band... if you want every song to sound the same. </troll>
No actually our band name was influenced by the legenday bad brains. they got all time fav record i against i
Thats awesome thanks man. We've been around for a little while. Just never tried getting signed or toured. Just settled for our houston draw. Our next headlining show is at Fitzgeralds Sept 2nd, you should come to that. SEe you sunday.
Have you heard Incubus's album S.C.I.E.N.C.E.? it's a lot more rock than their stuff now, but they seem to re-invent themselves with every new album imo. I like all their stuff.
And to further derail the thread... Their next album, Light Grenades, being produced by Brendan O'Brien (who's worked with artists such as Bob Dylan, Perl Jam and Korn BTW) was mentioned briefly in Rolling Stone this month, the guitarist had this to say: So I'm ready for something that'll rock my socks off...
I went to the show in Selma yesterday. We didn't go in until Flyleaf was on and unfortunately missed them cuz that was the band I wanted to see most. Overall Stone Sour, The Deftones and Korn just didn't wow me.
I in no way meant my last comment to be a knock on incubus. I have science and make yourself and have seen them twice on tour myself back in the late 90s. They are a good band but the way it is now how everyone and their mothers and fathers listen to incubus (they've got a large audience demographic which is great for them they sell really well now) if they headline a show now I am saying the "crowd" that will come that show will be much different than the crowd that would come to a show that Korn is headlining. Family Values has already been a hard/harder rock tour with rap. The newer stuff incubus has been doing doesnt necessarily fall into group imo (their remix of dont want be a player is still awesome though) a lot of producers work with different bands that has no bearing on it, i never said incubus was a bad band i just dont think they would be an appropriate band to headline family values Head leaving Korn has hurt them, while they still have made some good songs, they're live performances aren't nearly as good. i went to one show after he left and it was good but not nearly like it used to be
Hey can you tell me when the show let out (did yours also start at 2pm? ) ? I have work in Austin at 8 or 9 the next morning... so I'm trying to plan my return/sleep time...
