My God... I always wrote off Family Guy because I never thought it could ever be as good as the simpsons.

I have been watching the Season 1 and 2 DVDs and boy was I wrong. Genius Show, it is my kind of comedy.

    me too man....me too! :D

Like a few here know...I have been a big fan from the beginning...

I think it is safe to say Fox saw the ratings on CartoonNet, and the numbers on the DVD sales...and hastily re-thought out their position on the show.

Seth must have been thrilled to be in a position of power when dealing with Fox to restart the show.

    Victory is Mine!!

I can't wait either. I just watched the 2 hour marathon.

Sadly, when it ended an old family friend who lived across the street passed away. hmm...

Some jokes are ruined for me because of Fox's editing of the original. Well, I'm sure Seth did the editing, cause Fox wouldn't allow the original to air. Urgh, I wish they'd just stick with Cartoon Network. The DVD sales would shoot through the roof in a year when season 4 came out. :)

How funny... Fox (of all stations) cut stuff out that the Cartoon Network was able to play...

But yeah are they picking the show back up or is this like a promo of sorts for that new one they got comin' out? American Dad I think it was?

i saw the promo for american dad and its was hillarious too, but it hard to say it will be as good as family guy. the promo was short so you didnt really get to know all the characters that well. i am surprised fox would go and edit the family guys when they re-ran them, i didnt get a chance to watch them last night (i have the dvds anyway) but that doesnt make sense at all when they were first broadcasted unedited fox is being stupid by editing the marathon episodes.

AMERICAN DAD, from “Family Guy” creator SETH MacFARLANE, is the animated story of STAN SMITH (MacFARLANE), who works for the CIA and is constantly on the alert for terrorist activity. Stan will go to extremes to protect his beloved America from harm – as evidenced by the terror-alert color code on his fridge, and his frequent knee-jerk reaction of shooting holes in the toaster whenever the toast pops up. In addition to Stan’s wife and teenage children, the Smith household has two rather unconventional members. There’s ROGER (MacFARLANE), the sarcastic space alien Stan rescued from Area 51 who deeply resents the fact that he’s not allowed to leave the house, and KLAUS (DEE BRADLEY BAKER, “Stripperella,” “Johnny Bravo”), a lascivious, German-speaking goldfish – the result of a CIA experiment gone seriously wrong.

PRODUCTION COMPANY: 20th Century Fox Television
EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS/WRITERS: Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker, Matt Weitzman
VOICE CAST: Seth MacFarlane as Stan, Roger; Wendy Schaal as Francine; Rachael MacFarlane as Hayley; Scott Grimes as Steve; Dee Bradley Baker as Klaus

Wow... sounds like just Family Guy v2.0 (this could be a very good thing). I'm sure they reckognized that one of the favorite elements of Family Guy are Brian and Stewie, so ... Stewie -> Klaus, Brian -> Roger. Stick with a over-the-top dad, prone to causing wacky situations, and then we'll just have to wait see if the wife is the "normal" one, and you get a stupid son and a stereotypical teenage daughter.

(All I know about this show is what I read above so if I'm incorrect feel free to lemme know.)

Yeah, but you never know... I remember saying the same thing about Family Guy when I first saw it... "It sucked man... that weird baby was kinda funny I guess..." and now it's my favorite show, so for the time being I'll just hope to be pleasantly surprised..... or I can just wait for new Family Guy episodes....
