Did anybody watch this on Adult Swim last night? It was an episode that Fox banned because I guess they thought it was offensive to Jews. Of course, the episode is about educating Peter on how stereotypes aren't true etc. Best part, Peter goes to Temple with Max Weinstein, who is trying to show Peter about Judaism, and starts seeing people who he didn't know were Jewish. He spots Meg's principal, Bill Nye the Science Guy, half of Lenny Kravitz is there, literally, and then Optimus Prime drives in, transforms, then a yamucha(sp?) transforms onto his head.
Didn't watch it but its on the Vol. 2 Season 3 box set, so I need to watch it cause it sounded interesting. Heard the best quote on that show while watching a rerun last week even though I am filipino: [Quagmire walking the airport where he found out that Brian is working as the police's sniff dog and asking him what he can smell on him] Brian: You recently returned from the Philippines and just had lumpia (filipino eggroll) Where you made love to two Filipino women. And a man. Quagmire: You mean THREE Filipino women. [pauses, Brian nods] Quagmire: Ahhhhhhh! Funny stuff.
I saw it. It was hilarious. "Help me with my accounting!" "What makes you think I can help you with that." "Come onnnnnn"
Hilarious episode. I don't understand why fox refused to air this episode. Its not like that show hasn't potentially offended quite a few other groups.
did they ever say why they canceled the show. im sure its because of ratings because they wouldnt cancel if they were making a lot of money. but if thats true i dont understand why it wasnt getting more viewers, such a funny show.
Why didn't Family Guy get more viewers? 1) Fox would always give it horrible time slots relative to other prime time shows. It was basically their 'sacrificial lamb'. 2) The vast majority of TV watchers are idiots and watch lousy programming.
Substitute SciFi Channel for Fox and you have the 2 reasons Farscape got cancelled. That and the Face of Evil.
Family Guy and Futurama both fit this criteria. They should have just put them behind the Simpsons (not in front of the Simpsons) and left them there for a whole year. We would all be enjoying these shows in prime time if they had done that. Instead they moved them around, or always replaced them with something else they were trying out....never had a solid, regular rotation in a good time slot. Now the reruns are thriving on adult swim.
I watched it. Honestly, I didn't see what the big deal is. It wasn't even that good of an episode. The Optimus Prime gag was pretty dang funny, though.
