I don't know if anyone else saw this, but I was reading a chron.com blog and came across this:

"I'm hearin' that a trade could go down by this weekend that would send Shane, Luther & Brooks to Atlanta for Josh Smith, ZaZa P. & Salim Stoudemire. Is there any truth to this trade going down , have you heard of anything of the sort? What do you think of this possible trade and what Josh Smith (baby Andrei Kirilenko) could bring to this team? Thanks for your TIME!!!"...

3 different posters made reference to this. Has Clutch, Jeff or anyone else heard any info on this?

This would be terrible. Josh Smith has such an arrogant attitude and he isn't even that good. We need a PG! Salim is hardly a legit PG.

Wow, if so that's a really lopsided trade in our favor.

I would really hate to see Brooks go: what if he is the second coming of Allen Iverson? I don't know much about the Atlanta players.

Wow, I'd pull the trigger on that. Josh Smith is a beast on both ends of the floor! But giving up Brooks too? Damn. For Josh Smith, I'd do it.

Is ATL really willing to give up Josh Smith, with all that youth and athletisism?

I just checked Feigen and Blinebury's blogs and no mention.

If it is RJ then it carries no weight. Once again, link?

Atlanta? Because Smith is immature and not fun deal with behind the scenes. Loves to ball, hates to be coached.

I'm not sure if I like this trade, but it is hard to argue against it. Just frightened that it would backfire. We need a leader on this team, not another potential headcase....

Josh Smith would be the prize here, as Salim is another undersized 2 and ZaZa is always hurt. He would be a tremendous athletic defensive addition that can play the 2, 3 and 4.

I'm all for it, but I would hate to see Brooks blossom in ATL.

Our leaders can be either T-Mac,Yao or Francis. C'mon, you don't make trades to get leaders. If Rick Ruler was able to control Artest and Bonzi, then I'm sure he'd be fine with Josh Smith.

Smith's still on his rookie contract, which ends after this season. We would have to resign him. Problem Atlanta has been having with him behind the scenes? The guy is a stud. You would have to consider it, although I don't believe the story. Interestingly, his bio on NBA.com says his favorite current player is Tracy McGrady!

    Not true.

Jon Feigen already shut it down.

Hawks are extremely high on Josh Smith and Zaza.

The Rockets lose the future by trading away Brooks and Battier. Stoudemire and Smith are free agents after this season and will bolt for the money.

I wish I even knew where to stand on this trade. I NEVER watch the Hawks. I know Josh Smith is an athletic freak and I've seen Zaza put up good numbers, but he does seem to be oft-injured. Isn't Salim Stoudamire VERY similar to Luther Head?

I'm skeptical of the authenticity of this rumor anyhow.
