I think "Sky King" had the best pilot ever.

Some of the pilots sound good. However with the recent trends most of the sci-fi ones will get cancelled.

About A Boy (FOX) - Patrick Dempsey replaces Hugh Grant in the series adapation of the movie.

Haven't seen the movie (its in my rental queue), so I will reserve judgement.

Heroine (FOX) - Eliza Dushku in a cross between Run Lola Run and Groundhog Day where she graduates from college and discovers that she's able to save lives by changing the course of events.

I love Eliza Dushku, but I wish she would have made herself available for whatever Buffy Spinoff Joss decides to make. Based on her alone, could have promise.

n.y.p.d. 2069 (FOX) - from the creator of NYPD Blue about a a present-day new york city cop who finds himself transported to 2069 (sounds like the movie Demolition Man).

    CRAP

Skin (FOX) - From Jerry Bruckheimer: drama centers on the daughter of a p*rn industry mogul who falls in love with the son of a district attorney whose quest is to take the p*rn king down

    CRAP

Karen Sisco (ABC) - Carlo Gugino takes over the U.S. Marshall character that J-Lo played in the movie Out of Sight.

    CRAP

Slice o' life (ABC) - Janeane Garafalo as a producer on a newsmagazine

I like Janeane (political views not-withstanding) but isn't this just a Murphy Brown ripoff. She might be funny enough to pull it off, and I did think MB, Larry Sanders, and SportsNight were funny, so the behind the scenes of a TV show concept can work.

The Street Lawyer (ABC) - Eddie Cibrian in the adaptation of the John Grisham novel.

Haven't read the book, but most of his work seems very repetitive. I liked A Time to Kill as a movie, the Client was okay, and the others I could pass on. I don't hold out much hope for a series, and am not a big fan of the other courtroom dramas out there.

The Lunchbox Chronicles (CBS) - revolves around a widowed mother of two young kids (monica potter) who fights a daily battle to keep her life from spinning out of control. Co starring Andy Richter. (sounds like Erin Brockovich the series)

Andy Richter's last show sucked. Erin Brokovich sucked. I predict this will get cancelled mid-season.

Rubbing Charlies (CBS) - Scott Wolf as a doctor who spends his time trying to help others but remains uncertain of what he wants out of his own life

    Another medical show? :(

Untitled JAG spinoff (CBS) - Mark Harmon focuses on the work of the naval criminal investigative services

I like JAG, but it has a horrible timeslot. Move it into primetime on Wednesday or Thursday. This show could have promise, but how is it at all different than JAG besides lacking Catherine Bell. I may give it a peep.

Alligator Point (NBC) - Nathan Fillion and Jamie Pressley comedy revolves around the relationships at a florida-based oyster bar

A new Cheers? I didn't much like the original. Meh.

Casino Eye (NBC) - with Nikki Cox a drama that will revolve around a surveillance expert and the work he does for a consortium of las vegas casinos

    CRAP

Coupling (NBC) - Rena Sofer in the US adaptation of the UK comedy centers on the love and lust of a group of six thirtysomethings who are either involved, formerly involved or looking to become intimately involved with one another (Friends: the next generation?)

    Friends only uglier? CRAP

Future Tense (NBC) - revolves around an elite law enforcement unit in the future starring Christopher Titus

    See NYPD 2069

Homeland Security (NBC) - Scott Glenn drama explores how the events of sept. 11 changed the way america deals with internal and external threats

Could be interesting, worth a look.

Mr. Ambassador (NBC) - Rupert Everett stars in a farcical fish-out-of-water vehicle centering on an eccentric british ambassador to the united states (supposedly his character will NOT be gay).

    CRAP

Once Around the Park (NBC) - Heather Locklear as a divorced mom with 2 kids.

    CRAP

Sunset Division (NBC) - spinoff of Crossing Jordan starring Jerry O'Connell

    CRAP

touch 'em all mccall (NBC) - Tom Selleck as a one-time baseball player who returns to his hometown and winds up coaching a farm team

Horrible title. I liked Selleck in Magnum and he is a big baseball guy. Maybe?

Untitled Tracy Morgan Project (NBC) - SNL star as a blue-collar business owner and father of two kids. With John "Friday" Witherspoon and rapper Heavy D.

Who was the last SNL alum to have a successful TV show?

Game Over (UPN) - computer-animated comedy that revolves around parents who are videogame characters trying to balance their jobs with raising a family. Voices by Marisa Tomei, Patrick Warburton, Rachel Dratch and DL Hughley.

    I am intrigued.

Weapon X (UPN) - revolves around a geeky n.s.a. tech guy who's accidentally infected with "nanobot" technology that turns him into the agency's top weapon

    CRAP

Vegas Dick (UPN) - drama about a former con man who ends up the inhouse detective at a hard rock-like casino in vegas

    CRAP

untitled eve project (UPN) - comedy starring rapper/actress eve as a fashion designer in new york city

    CRAP

Mr. Logan (WB) - comedy will star young rapper-actor Lil Bow Wow as a high school teacher (?!?!?)

    Double CRAP

Trash (WB) - "romeo and juliet"-esque comedy set in a trailer park

    Probably CRAP

Young MacGuyver (WB) - new version of the 1985-92 abc series focusing on macgyver's nephew

I always loved MacGuyver. Could have promise. Don't give it a crappy timeslot.

Kid Mayor (WB) - comedy revolves around a young man just a year out of college, who somehow steals the mayoral seat from a longtime incumbent

    Probably CRAP

Fearless (WB) - Rachel Leigh Cook in a drama based on francine pascal's series of young-adult novels about a girl born without the gene for fear

DareDevil if he was a she, and not blind. "young-adult novels" <- this is a little worrisome.

Miss Match (NBC) - Alicia Silverstone in a romantic comedy inspired by the real-life story of samantha daniels, a matrimonial lawyer who doubles as a high-class matchmaker

    CRAP

I wouldn't give more than half a chance to 75% of these. People actually get paid to come up with this stuff?

heh. well these are pilots after all. you should download the original Buffy pilot on Kazaa. The actress who originally played Willow was this chunky gal with bad hair. Thank god Alyson Hannigan replaced her.

Angel is yet to be renewed by the WB and UPN's future is pretty shaky due to FOX owning some of their key affiliates (including Houston's Channel 20). So if Joss Whedon does make a 2nd Buffy spinoff (for Fall 2004, it's too late for 2003), hopefully he can find a good home for it (and hopefully Michelle Trachtenberg won't be in it).

The Tracy Morgan show intrigues me, he is hilarioius. John Witherspoon is the man at being the funny dad, just check out the Wayans Bros. and the Friday movies.

Speaking of Christopher Titus, whatever happened to Titus? I liked that show.

I hope none of the NBC pilots take over Scrubs' timeslot.

Traci Morgan show should be called "The Brain Fellow African Safari"....That's the funniest skit in the history of SNL.

Good to see Patrick Dempsey possibly getting some work. I think he has some decent talent....he just got stuck in those cutesy teen movie roles and couldn't seem to break out.

What pisses me off is that "Boomtown" is a freaking great show (hell, my wife was crying during the series finale) and it may be replaced by one of those pieces of crap.......

    stupid network TV.

Gawd, please don't ruin the legacy of MacGuyver! That was such a great show, and now they're doing a crappy re-make of it...

memo to Hollywood producers: Grab a dictionary and look somewhere between "origami" and "orinasal" and you'll find a little word called "originality"...

Wait! I've got a GREAT pilot idea:

A divorced, matchmaking street lawyer and mother of 2, played by Alicia Silverstone, winds up in New York, 2069, whereby she joins the NYPD, and is assigned to Sunset Division, which covers security for casinos. Her partner is a nanite-infested super doctor-turned-cop, played by Tracy Morgan, who also happens to have videogame parents who were born without the gene for fear. Their boss is none other than Janeane Garafalo, a white-trash ex-oyster bar waitress, who can mysteriously see things before they happen. The main villain of the show is MacGyver, now played by Christopher Titus, who has become a p*rn king in Vegas. His diabolical newsmagazine producer wife (Heather Locklear) and his scheming U.S. Marshall mistress (Eliza Dushku) help form the super villain trio known as "Kid Mayor." Jerry O'Connell guest stars as a wacky casino owner and manager of a minor-league baseball team looking for direction in his life. Mark Harmon, a former high school teacher, and his 15-year old CGI friend, voiced by Andy Richter, play hapless gambling addicts on the run from Rupert Everett, seen here in a completely over-the-top role as an insane JAG hot on their trail. Scott Wolf and Nikki Cox are the narrators for the show.

Whaddya say? Do I have a hit or what?!?!

GEORGE: I think I can sum up the show for you with one word: NOTHING.
    RUSSELL: Nothing?
    GEORGE: (Smiling) Nothing.
RUSSELL: (Unimpressed) What does that mean?
GEORGE: The show is about nothing.
JERRY: (To George) Well, it's not about nothing.
GEORGE: (To Jerry) No, it's about nothing.
