Since we had a live draft (yes, it was live, though it seemed dead a lot), do you guys think trades will be more or less common? I mean, I got a lot of the players I wanted, so I will be less inclined to trade until I see some of them (and the rest of the league) perform. What do y'all think? ------------------ Behad Sergeant at Arms of the Clutch BBS
I tend to agree with you. By the way, do you know your drafting a lot of banged up guys? D'Amico (arm) Burks (knees) Beltre (abdomen) Wagner (arm or groin, not sure who to believe on this one) ------------------ "Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored."- (Aldous Huxley)

Yeah, I know....I'm following them. Wagner will be ok, as will D'Amico. The rest I'm hoping to have available at some point in the season. This is not much different than fadeaway drafting Smoltz or Urbina or Wood, or katybig ballas taking Garciaparra. As long as they produce when they are healthy. Look at the numbers Caminiti puts up when he's healthy. Not bad for a 17 round pick (if he gets to me). Check out this scouting report on Beltre: 2001 Outlook Though the numbers do not necessarily reflect it, Beltre is moving forward and is about ready to have a breakout year. Were someone within the coaching staff to connect with him, it would only accelerate the process. If he continues to make patience a priority, there's a .320-30-100 seasonwith 25-plus steals lurking just around the corner. So if he comes back by May or June, then I have a good third baseman. If not, I'm screwed. ------------------ Behad Sergeant at Arms of the Clutch BBS
I hear ya. I am doing the same with Reynolds, Reed and Finley. Reynolds and Finley are coming off surgery and Reed banged up his ribs. But they are all not far away from coming back, so I should be allright. ------------------ "Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored."- (Aldous Huxley) [This message has been edited by BobFinn* (edited March 12, 2001).]
