The segment on ESPN just called all three Texas teams a lock.

    I'm inclined to agree.

ok, let me get this formality out of the way.

Calling anyone a lock for the playoffs at this point is premature and blah, blah, blah injuries, blah, blah, blah.

That aside - we make it.

    Loc? No. Probable? Yes.

I hope the team doesn't consider themselves a loc.

The Rockets are not a lock for the playoffs.Unless they improve quickly it's quite possible that they might miss out again which would be terrible for the organization and the fans.

A figment of the imagination! We can only hope but I would feel so ashamed that a Team that plays as poorly as us making the NBA Playoffs.

Sorry, I forgot about Portland. They'll finish ahead of Rockets, too. Houston will finish #10, only ahead of Seattle, Golden State, Clippers, and Phoenix.

I will guarantee you right here and now, if they finish the season with the current roster, the Rockets will NOT make the playoffs. 45 wins tops!

    fiction.
When was the last time Rockets made the playoff?
When was the last time the Rockets can score 100 pts?
When was the last quarter the Rockets score more than 20 pts?
When was the last time the rockets play consistently over a 2-game period (consistenlty bad does not count)?
They can't even play consistently in a "good" game. They always find a way to break apart somewhat.

But I sure hope they will make it.

To be fair, the west is just tough. There is no easy game.
The rockets just haven't played consistently over any stretch of time to be considered a lock to the playoff.

    Likely, but not locks.

You know something I just realized. The Rockets are the one and only team in the entire Western conference that has yet to have a single win against one of the big 5 of the West (LAL, Sacramento, San Antonio, Dallas, Minnesota). Even the bottom dwellers the Clippers and Suns have won at least one.

    Unlikely Rockets will make playoff.
A lottery and no-draft season is LOCKED.

I'd still refer to the Rockets playoff hopes as a possibility, not a lock.
