... is the best way to describe it. Have had it for about a week now. Sorta as when you get that more common eyelid twitch, except I have had this for about 5 days now... starting to get slightly concerned. It's only on one side of my face, slight but very annoying. Any ideas of what it could be?

Before you freak out, get some potassium in you.
Bananas are good. Also a mulitvitamin. And water. And rest.

    Always worked for me.

Yeah, am going that. Going to see whether it goes away. It hasn't escalated. It's very very slight anyway, was just wondering whether it could potentially be something.

    Your eye could be broken.

I think there is a new medical hotline I saw on NBC or ABC that you can call and get diagnosed over the phone. For something like a twitch they could probably tell you what you have and give you advice. I just don't know the phone number. When I had middle ear trauma after diving I called the diving hotline and they put me at ease. They diagnosed me correctly. If you could at least talk to someone you will feel better or at least know you have to do something right away to get clarity.

Growing up I had several facial tics.

My twitched my nose and eyes constantly.

It pissed my Dad off to no end b/c he said it made me look unintelligent and like a freak. He'd yell his lungs off whenever he saw me do it.

Scared the twitches right out of me.

But after reading this thread, the twitches are starting to return!

This is hardly a scientific response but it worth considering. Especially if all else fails.

A number of years ago when I first graduated from college, I was employed by a major corporation in the aerospace biz. One of the first jobs I held was supporting complex large new business proposals. Needless to say, if the proposal deadline expired Friday at noon, there were absolutely NO excuses.

Consequently, I work numerous 15+ hours days. To keep "pumped up" during the extended work nights, I resorted to Diet Coke. (I wanted the caffiene buzz but had given up sugar products many years prior).

To make a long story short, I developed a similar single eye twitch which went away shortly after quitting diet soft drinks. Like I prefaced...not based upon emperical science, but definitely a true personal experience.

I thought Bell's Palsy was a temporary facial nerve paralysis...had a friend with it...too lazy to google it.

I've had the eyelid twitch, and attributed it to stress/anxiety. Have you been under some pressure lately? It could be a contributing factor. I don't really know. :( Hope you feel better.

Thanks for the replies. I've had the eye twitch, seems to be more common with people. Have had it several times and don't think it's much to worry about. Just thought it was weird that I had a twitch on my face, not eye. I have been working loads recently, but have been trying to rest this past week to see if it goes. Should try quitting the diet coke, addicted to the stuff. Thanks for that reply, sounds exactly like what I'm going through!
