Do you have either? I used to have both.... Now I just have one... I am thinking about deleting any and all "social networks" that I am a part of.. Whatever happened to privacy? I deleted my FB because I was sick and tired of getting updates on people 24-7.
I heard one can't delete a personal myspace profile anymore because myspace had so many people canceling their accounts over the past year or so and they've now restricted the ability to do so. Anyone know if that's true?
Nice topic . Answers inline: People forget that these are choices. We can make this a fun, interactive, and learning way to know about each other. You can hide people's statuses, games, updates, etc., on a per-user or per-game basis. I've removed all the mafia wars, farmville requests, etc., things from mine. All I care to know is what my family and closest friends are doing and if I want to be a part of it. If I don't, I just go on with whatever else I'm doing. There's a time to play around, and there's a time to waste other people's time. There are things about which to joke, and there are serious things out there. People put their business out there like it's some sort of therapy session. I let people know which are TMI and which ones are "Like"-able posts separately. Sometimes, if they continue to post nonsense (like me on CF.net), I just don't read it anymore. Some people put just WAY TOO MUCH out there for others to know.
I have an account on both. Never log into either. I cant believe some of the crap people post on facebook.
This. I actually get a kick out of checking my myspace once every few months or whatever. It's like a little snapshot of my life circa 2007.
I have neither. Clutchfans is all I need. Plus, with the amount of time I'm on Clutchfans, I won't have time for FB/Myspace.
Have both but primary use facebook now. Have thought about shutting down myspace but my movie review blog on there still gets hits when I post something even though I've moved its primary location to a none social network location. So I'll leave it up till that dies off.
while that may be true, facebook is even gayer. People post the most useless crap about themselves. I found facebook far more annoying.
I have both, but can't remember the last time I logged into my myspace account. Facebook I use daily.
I got facebook back in 2004 while I was still in college I wished it was still restricted only for college ppl...
When I saw the thread title, I thought that someone had bumped a thread from years ago. I thought myspace didn't exist anymore.
had both, deleted myspace more than a year ago. myspace has fallen all the way to #33 on alexa, if i'm not mistaken it was in first or second place just a couple of years ago.
Facebook was cool back in the day now my bosses and coworkers want to friend me. I remember one night I posted a bunch of pics on my phone and then when I sobered up in the morning I had to quickly delete.
There are traces of my life around the internet since around 2000. I've never posted anything I didn't want posted. I'm not gonna backtrack and erase my entire history on the internet. I came across another forum I used to visit, some of the posts were pretty hilarious, a snapshot of my life circa 2004
