just looked through the FA list on ESPN.....talking Unrestricted only..... these names jumped out to me..........

    Danny Fortson
    Chris Mihm
    Michael Olowakandi
    Scott Pollard

now.... don't get me wrong I love Deke and Hayes...especially Deke....but Mihm and Olowakandi may not be bad ideas for backup center.....

Pollard played for Adelman in Sacramento.....

as for Fortson... as I said I love Hayes...but Fortson is a rebound machine....I mean that dude is rediculous....that's almost his only skill....but he must be cheap at this point in his career....

another name out there.....get ready for it........ CATO !!!!!

I just can't let this guy go.....maybe he would be a good option at backup Center too.....I mean if we are looking past just this next year !

hahaha.... well I see my post was met with sarcasm........ but if Adelman is going to play uptempo...that is not Mutombo.....sad to say......it is a passing center.......Mihm fits the bill.......and he was a UT player...some Texas love !

the 3rd Center should play uptempo...Mihm is asking for big bucks..I'd rather have Pollard...maybe Landry could be the 3rd PF/C

If they don't sign Mihm, I am never cheering for the Rockets again.

    come on now....a rotation of.....

    james
    bonzi
    tmac
    darko
    yao

    and bench players

    battier
    mihm
    hayes
    brooks
    landry
    vspan
    snyder

that's a good team......with some growth of our young players this team could be deadly

He's never been good. And he's just had major ankle surgery. Think about it this way: he was the only center for the lakers that first year after the Shaq trade and they still only played him 24 mpg. If we really needed a third string center...I'd take him for the vet minimum. He's better than Tsak at least.

pollard couldnt even get playing time on the Cavs, that means over on the West he would be in the NBADL

Only Chris Mihm has some worth in that list, but you have to check his healt first.

The Kandi Man is past his prime, if he ever had one.. and I have a hard time seeing what Pollard would bring to the team. Mihm is intriguing I guess, but its pretty rough to deal with a guy coming off a major surgery.

I hate to say, but I honestly think Pollard is the best out of all of them. I know someone said he couldn't even play for the Cavs but I think he probly should have. Gooden and Z played horrible for most of the playoffs. Pollard is kinda like an older Varajeo: he'll get a lot of lose balls and most importantly can rebound like a mad man which is what we need...rebounding.

If this is what it has come to then I think I'll try to find a way to slip into a coma until next offseason.

What about Matt Barnes or Pietrus of Golden State. Both these guys are built for the running game and showed they could step up in the playoffs and kill the Mavs. They may be small forward material but we should still take a look at them.

CM is a Texas Basketball Legend. CM is the saviour for the Rockets. CM runs a basketball camp for underprivileged youth. If the Rockets pass on CM, they won't win anything for as long as CM is in the league.
