The Los Angeles Clippers today waived forward Josh Powell, it was announced by Vice President of Basketball Operations Elgin Baylor. In 64 games played last season, Powell averaged 5.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 19.2 minutes per game.

I think his game could fit infor our second unit if Landry's agent keeps playing games. I've always thought he was a pretty decent role player on a not so decent team.

He is Haslem light , if Landry doesn't re-sign I would imagine the Rockets will just rather give the minutes to Dorsey and Hayes.

He got a good mid raneg jumper though.

I'm really wanting a PF in the 6'11 and up range.. I want a block shot kind of guy. That is what we are missing. We have all of these short PF's that are really good around the basket but can't block a shot to save there lives.

Screw Landry, I'd toss at least half the MLE at Powell right now. Get him and tell Landry he can take the remainder if he gets the knee scoped. Otherwise, screw him and his agent.

No one deserves 5 yrs at $5.5M based on 42 games. Especially with a knee covered in red flags.

    Amen to that.

This has gone on long enough.

Josh Powell has some crazy rebounding efficiency. If Landry doesn't re-sign, I'd go after Powell, Pargo, or a big body like Foyle.

I really think we should look into (Please don't laugh) Darko Milicic.. The guys is decent around the basket and hellp fill up the low post with Yao.. He's classified and a Center - Forward so in cases where Yao is down he can fill in.. Also he only averages 23 min a game. Which is perfect since most PF and Center playing time will be played by Yao and Scola.. But against taller PF's Darko is a great fit and if were needing some interior defense he would be a good choice. Memphis is obviously in a rebuilding stage so if we are able to offer some of our bench players.. Hayes/Head/Francis + Cash ( It actually works on espn trade machine ) Pluse Darko is a free agent in 2 years 2010.. So if he doesn't work out we just let him go.... We are needing to solidify every position to push for a championship.. We only have really 2 years and its either this year or next...

I dont' think we have a problem rebounding because Yao/Artest/Scola/Tracy can rebound really well.. We are needing a blocker in the paint.. Someone who can jump and has some athleticism who has some height.. Please no more sub 6'9 Power forward..
