Yeah me too, the middle of the afternoon there, so maybe the kids and everyone were still in school/at work! Looks like it took out about ten houses.
I went to college and use to live a couple miles from that airbase. Always remembered those damn fighters flying around while trying to study.
I used to date this girl from Iverness Scotland and there is a NATO airbase near there. She was telling me she was taking a walk once out on the moors and a fighter crashed into the otherside of the hill she was walking on.
That's very unfortunate I wonder what more we can find out about the situation since it involves the military.
What do you want to know? It is obviously a training exercise gone wrong, really the only thing to know is anyone hurt and was it mechanical or pilot error.
they need to change the course. They should not be allowed to fly around La Jolla every damn noon. They were making huge noises. now they can drop?
How tragic. 4 people were in the house. A mother, grandmother, and 2 children. Pieces of 2 bodies have been found, so 2 are confirmed dead. And 2 others are missing. The father called in after he heard about the crash, and it turned out to be his home. How awful. When I was stationed at Tinker AFB (67/68) in Midwest City, Oklahoma; we lived in a neighborhood that was under the flight path for one of the runways. We were 8 houses from a grade school. On the other side of the school from us, were 3 houseless slabs where a fighter had crashed. In 1990, I took my youngest son there to show him we lived, but couldn't get into the area. The government had bought out the area and fenced it in. I was told there had been another crash a lot closer to the school. Anytime you live close to a runway flight path, you're going to have that problem. Humans make mistakes and machines will fail. When that happens in the airplane industry, the results are tragic and not pretty!
WTF. DID THEY REALLY HAVE TO SAY "Immigrant" in that story? Why do they have to mention that, anyway? Whether he's AFRICAN, EUROPEAN, CHINESE, PERUVIAN, whatever, why not just say "Man..." or "Home owner..." ?? I'd be pissed. Makes me wonder if the dude had some insurance lined up... or something... you know...? It sounds weird he had to say "I don't blame" instead of "I miss my family" or something else. Anyway, freakin' hyperbole reporters: WTF? Sounds like MANY MANY people died...
Devastating. Have you considered the article only included some of the quotes? Perhaps this was a response to a specific question?
