i love steve but he starting to piss me off. Well not many people have played with a center thats 7'5" but damn get over it. Yao is taking away the light that was on him in houston so he will cry.

I didn't see it, but if he said that he's worried about only how Yao will help his game, that was stupid. He can have his opinion, but that should be kept to himself. I don't blame him about the spotlight though, it's easy for us who have never tasted fame to criticize a person who doesn't want to lose his luster. I'm hoping he's upset about the whole circus type of attention Yao will get and not worried about not being the best player on the team. If he starts to think that way, we will start to suck on the court as well.
Steve is starting to sound pathetic. Is he so insecure that he can't stand the thought of playing with a good team? Steve has two choices. Lets just hope that he doesn't turn into a Pippen, and prove that his Canadian soap opera wasn't just an isolated incident. When you do that once, you can claim that you were acting in your own self interest and it had to be done. When you do it twice, it says something about you as a person.
Stevie does wnat the spotlight..Maybe we should even consider moving him for a pure pg like Andre Miller since he is on the block..or even a Baron Davis...though these are just wishes... I dont see how lamar odom will help his game..Sure they might have more fun "kickin it." Several of my friends have said..that if Yao is any good at all..he will be the center of that team...maybe thats what Francis is most scared of....
So? That's true, he has never been able to play with someone like that. But that does not mean that he CAN'T play with someone like Ming. My deal on Francis is this. Talk is cheap. Let's all wait until after training camp, after pre-season and into the season and THEN ask Francis about Ming. That STILL might be a bit early but at least by then he will have met him, played with him, practiced with him and he can make a more informed opinion on him. I am not trying to be a Francis appologist or anything like that. I am just saying let's not all get to "excited" about a few comments here and there. Chris
You should make sure you refer to him as Todd Mcullogh or however his name is spelled. People might get the wrong idea and think you mean T-mac as in Tracy Mcgrady.
Bottom line though is that, wrong or right, Francis has the power to sign elsewhere as a FA in 2 seasons. Personally, I think he is behaving like a spoilt brat. However...he has the power. If Ming doesn't work out...we lose BIG time.

I hope Rudy and CD knock some sense into Steve and tell him to either get rid of the attitude or he's gone. They've got enough to worry about (China, draft, etc.) without having to listen to his b*tching and moaning.
I agree.. he seemed emotionless about it.. non-enthusiastic.. basically, he's gonna agree what ever Mobley says and vice versa. Ofcourse Francis is a whiner.. look how he entered this league?? by pouting and not wanting to play for memphis*vancouver at the time*... Any Player that does that is considered to be a problem in my eyes.. I like stevie as a player.. but If he thinks that the game won't change with Ming in the line up.. he's mistaken. I'm hoping he opens up to him when they have time to practice and see what Ming can do for them on the court.. Francis just wants Odom like Mobley and Players are always gonna question management.. it just depends how those players *react* to the choices.
Before all this NBA Lottery stuff happened Steve gave every indication that he was SERIOUS about signing a contract extension with the Rockets this summer. The Rockets were going to give him the max and he wanted to stay here. He even went so far as to say he doesn't even need an agent because he is not worried at all about getting it done. He loves it here and he wants to be a Rocket. Now, if "all of a sudden" he changes his tune and DOES NOT sign the extension this summer, THAT will tell us something. That, more than anything, will speak VOLUMES about how he feels about the Rockets draft. Because it will have been the DRAFT that will have been the one "variable" brought into the equation from him being happy to sign with us to whatever his position is later this summer. Steve is the team leader, the NBA all-star, the francise. Hopefully he will take it upon himself to lead this team into the NBA Playoffs and beyond and not bail on it. This summer we will find out a little more about Stevie's "character." Chris
i wish steve and cuttino would realize one more mess up and odom is out for a long time. It isnt like he was just caught twice. It takes 3 offences before your suspended one time in the nba for drugs, hes been suspended twice hmmmm.
There is nothing wrong with voicing your opinion. if francis doesnt believe ming will be the best player available than that is his opinion. just because everyone wants ming doesnt mean he has to. I think steve knows who will most benefit the team next year since he is on the court every game, not the fans.
lol.. I think Francis wants someone to contribute now..(and Mobley) they want rings.. but someone needs to tell them Odom isn't the Answer.. Finding a way to deal with the Lakers Is..and I don't see Odom solving the lakers for us.. But thats a cool idea.. don't think Management would pull that trade though If your meaning Steve Francis for Miller and 6th.. actually I think that maybe askin a bit much.
