WWW. Time for Beltran and Berkman to pad their stats in this series. IMO this team is worst than the D'Backs. Vidro is the only solid player on the team. I can't believe nobody tried to get him during the deadline.
I wouldn't get my hopes up. They couldn't even manage better than a split at home against the Diamondbacks. I repeat, they split at home against a team that had lost 14 games in a row. I can somewhat admire Drayton and Hunsicker's stubbornness in sticking with this thing and not trading Beltran and Kent. I certainly would have abandoned ship, but I can respect their decision. My only problem is if they were going to stick with this thing and mortgage the future anyway, they should have gone down with ALL THEIR GUNS and not half-assed it. By that, I mean that deals should have been made to aquire some halfway decent relievers. Either get ready for next year or give these guys some help, but don't stick in the middle. They can't get to the postseason with the hole they're already in with this joke of a bullpen.
so aside from the 2-hit shutout we're gonna get handed to us on the 7th, we should win the other games easily. i swear, we better beat the everloving hell out of biddle. that b*stard tore my fantasy team a new one for 1/2 the season as i hung on to his 8+ ERA as i desperately needed saves (and assumed he couldn't possibly keep pitching that badly) then as soon as he loses the closer's spot and i get rid of him, he starts becoming a masterful starter. 5 shutout innings here, 5 innings 2 runs there, a few wins spread around after being 0-5 with me. there are few people i hate more right now. only pat burrell for what he did to my team last year.
I think I'll have to change mine. I forgot that this is ALWAYS the case with the Astros. We can never hit against guys making their debuts, or someone we're seeing for the first time. Pugs
wow a couple of major lineup changes tonight Biggio LF Berkman RF Beltran CF Bagwell 1B Kent 2B Ensberg 3B Everett SS Chavez C
Bagwell on pace for 26 homers this season. Although he is down from his typical 35. This is still not too bad. He should be at about 445 by years end. 27 HR's each season puts him at about 500 for his career. I think he's gonna make it. That's respectable enough to keep him in the starting lineup. If he goes three more years he will only need 15 homers each season.
this is not a game for the faint of heart. Both Biddle and Everett knocked out of the game, and I don't like the sound of Adam's injury.
