Heath, it is my understanding that players are eligible for the draft if, in any single season they had 300+ ABs or 20+ games pitched. Not just this past season. Under that criteria I protected Lieberthal and Bradley, neither of whom had 300+ AB this season but all of whom had done it previously. The idea is to protect minor leaguers from the draft, not vets who happened to have fewer ABs this year due to injury, etc. With those criteria in mind, there are 4 players you have missed. These are: (1) Vizquel, (2) Branyan, (3) Andrews, and (4) Wright. Branyan had 300+ ABs in 2002. As for the others, they have all met the requirements in at least 4 different seasons. Vizquel has had 12 seasons that qualified! Of those, I'd think you would at least want to protect Branyan, a good, relatively young power hitter.
haven, I noticed that you protected Lane twice, and KJ doesn't appear on your list. I assume you want to protect him in that 2nd spot! (Also, Adam Everett doesn't qualify).
Actually I knew this, but it seemed like there was some confusion so I wanted to make this clear by only protecting players that qualified this year. I will be back shortly with my final list of protections.
