I'll be making a trip to Ireland next week. I need to exchange some dollars into Euros. What is the best method to do this? Should I go to a local national bank and exchange before I leave or using ATM's overseas?

Doesn't Ireland use the English Pound?

    Why do you need Euros?

Also, you get better exchange rates by simply using your credit card instead of cash.

The Republic of Ireland hasn't been associated with England since 1916. I believe you are thinking perhaps of Northern Ireland?

I think you can only use visa/debit over there ... or i was told if your card has cyrix or something like that you can use your card.
