http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/sports/1827209 Former Texans receiver/return specialist Jermaine Lewis has found a new home in Jacksonville, where he has agreed to a three-year contract to play for the Jaguars. Lewis, who was a major disappointment in his only season with the Texans, will play against his former team two times each season because Houston and Jacksonville play in the AFC South. Selected by the Texans in last year's expansion draft, Lewis did little to live up to his reputation as one of the NFL's premier return specialists. He averaged 7.8 yards on punt returns and 20.9 yards on kickoff returns. Lewis caught only two passes for an offense in which the coaches had hoped to use him as a slot receiver. To replace Lewis, the Texans are interested in MarTay Jenkins, a receiver/kickoff returner who spent the last four years with Phoenix. Last season, Jenkins led the NFL with a career-high 28-yard average on kickoff returns. He had 21 catches for 250 yards and a touchdown. The Jaguars, Falcons and Raiders also are interested in Jenkins, 28. Meanwhile, the Texans continued to exchange proposals with Tim McGee, who represents free-agent running back Stacey Mack, who rushed for 436 yards and nine touchdowns last season. The Jaguars have given Mack the option of returning as the backup behind Fred Taylor.
LOL! Does anyone know the terms of the contract? With such a disappointing season, one would think that he would have to have taken quite a pay cut.
Martay Jenkins might be the second best return man in the NFL behind Mike Lewis. He would be a steal if we sign him.
