Has King Kong Hit a Snag? The New York Times is reporting that Detroit Has Pulled Out of the Four-Way Trade that Would Send Vin Baker and Glen Rice to the Knicks for Patrick Ewing. 'The Knicks were going to give the Pistons money, and the whole deal was about to be done,' said an Eastern Conference team official who spoke to the Times on the condition of anonymity, 'but the contracts became a mess. There were just too many red flags' Detroit was already coming under heavy criticism for the trade. However, the trade may not be as dead as the Times is reporting. A league source has told NBAtalk that in a worst case scenario the Knicks and Sonics would just trade Baker (and the gaggle of Sonics) for Ewing and leave the Pistons and the Lakers out of it. However, the same source told NBAtalk that Detroit has been in and out of this deal several times and that they still expected the four-way trade to happen tomorrow as first reported by NBAtalk Monday morning. http://www.nbatalk.com/nba/rumors/index.shtml ------------------
