I just read on the ESPN boards that Ewing rejected the job offer by the Rox. First of all, I didn't know that they offered it to him, just that they interviewed him. And second, wasn't he the one that wanted the job in the first place? I don't think there is any truth to this, but does anyone know anything about this?
No, not really. But some of the trade rumors regarding the Rox on there sound good and wished it would happen.
i saw that too. then i clicked the link, and it was just some ghost site that would open up your disk drives
Ewing turned down the job because the Rockets said they could not guarantee him special treatment at neither Heartbreakers or Ricks Cabaret. That was a deal breaker.
Good. Now I don't have to throw things. Please give an offer to Kareem. He's right for Yao. JVG is man enough to handle it, right? Don't be a puss, Jeffie. Bang heads with a different perspective.
Actually I have heard my girlfriend's dog's cousin's owner's brother's best friend's nephew said that last week already. So it must be true...
Bah, we, or at least me, like to hold grudges longer. Actually, being serious here, it just wouldn't look right in my opinion to see Ewing sitting on our bench. It would almost look as strange as seeing Hakeem in a uniform other than the Rockets.
Kareem has a reputation for REALLY poor interpersonal skills and a belief that he is a much better coach than he actually is. He often runs afoul of other coaches and GM's because he can be such a jerkoff. Sounds like the PERFECT guy for a polite kid like Yao. Look, if Ewing is a good coach, who the hell cares if he played for the Knicks? I want a bench full of great teachers and if he is a great teacher, I want the Rockets to hire him. End of story. Oh, and please don't post rumors from bulletin boards as potential news stories. It is not news.
