"Ewing said he has been hired as an assistant coach with the Washington Wizards, meaning he will be on a team with the player who often denied him his shot at an NBA title: Michael Jordan." http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketball/news/2002/09/16/ewing_future_t/ I don't know if he's got the qualities of a good coach. What do you think?
I don't know if he'll ever be a quality NBA coach, I haven't heard much about his overall knowledge of the game and if he has a very strategic mindset. For the Wizards it's a pretty good move I think because it gives guys like Haywood and Thomas a mentor who they can learn from and maybe emulate some of the play that Ewing showed in his carear. I'm not so sure how much it will help Kwame, the guy I think the Wiz are trying to find the most help for, because from what I've seen he's never had a game similar to Ewing's and looks to be more effective with his quickness and possible going face to the basket. Who knows though, hopefully Ewing can instill a harder work ethic upon Brown that allows him to develop faster.
I'm surprised he didn't sign on with the Hawks. How many free trips will he get to Atlanta with the Wizards anyway.
