This team will win in the playoffs this year. I don't know about a championship, but a deep run. This team is better equipped then previous 3 years. Why? Yao Ming is the best I've ever seen him. The guy is just great now. In previous years, I saw him get tired or lazy. But now he is just become a superstar. So now we do have 2 legitimate superstars. Adelman is the next reason? There is a reason why his teams do play at a top 5 tema level. The guy knows what his doing.

The problem with Van Gundy is after we won our first 2 games of the playoffs, he never made adjustments. Adelman has already made multiple adjustments. We won't be so stale in the playoffs this yeat. Trust the team.

Yao is playing more minutes with less production compare to last year...

So how is this year his best year?

The fact that he is playing more without signs of exhaustion is an improvement in itself. It's true that his efficiency has dropped. But it is not surprising in a new system.

Actually, his rebounds per minute is almost the same as last year. His fg% is about the same. The only thing that has dipped is scoring. But his assists has gone up.

How do you get those conclusions? Yao Ming is not better than last year. Everybody shots at lower percentage than last year. RA changes rotation because they are not as good as we expected and most guys including Yao have no fxxking idea what's going on.

I think the reason that Yao's socring is going down this season is because he is demanded to play multiple roles in the offense right now plus he can't get enough passes from his teammates.

We'll calm down after we look like a solid playoff team with a solid playoff berth. Then we'll be pumped for the playoffs!

    I agree.

But most people on this site, media, critics, and analysts got us pinned as a 1st round cannon-fodder or playoff cannon fodder (appetizer).

Which pretty much means it's good team or a team that always makes to the playoffs only to lose in first or early (semi finals) rounds (sometimes make it all the way to championship): See Below

    Washington Wizards (04 - present)
    Indianapolis Colts (99 - 05)
    Atlanta Braves (91-93, 97-04)
    Denver Broncos (00 - present)
Charlotte Hornets (any year they have made the playoffs)
    Jacksonville Jaguars (03 - present)
    Portland Trailblazers (93-03)
    Utah Jazz (87-95)
    Philadelphia Eagles (88 - 00)
    Kansas City Chiefs (91-present)
    Milwaukee Bucks (87 - present)
    Dallas Cowboys (98 - present)

See these types of teams usually range from really good to slightly above average, at times in the season they even look like contenders until the playoffs start. These type of teams are somewhat troubling, because it's like they are good enough to beat the best teams/championship teams but they never do or they are usually knocked out by team that barely made it, a team that they are a heavy favorite against, or was under .500 for most of they year. Most of these teams could games and series competitive for long time, but when that inevitable game 5, game 7, 9th inning, or 4th Quarter came. That had tendacy letting get it a way, even it's in their house.

Tmac is more effective when he involves in balance attack- assists and scoring like Steve Nash or like the game when he had triple double because he not a high % shooter. If he start the game jacking up shots and put us in a hole, his teammates won't establish any rhythm. Best way for this team is to get Bonzi, Shane, Head, and Scola involve in the offense and establish them as scoring threat. That way opponents will pay the price for double Tmac or yao later in game.

The turth is nobody can turn a bad situation into a good one at the most crucial moment ---- No leadership in Yao ,Tmac's minds, even the coach. They don't know what is ambitious.

I saw Tmac talking with Rasheed joyfully on the court yesterday.
Yao shoulders a lot of chinese images more that his playing.

Afterall, we cannot see any vows of Championship at season openning, or in offseason, like MJ, KG, or AI had before.

Someone cannot get the things that he had never really dreamed before.

I'm calm only because I checked the standings and we're something like 3 games out of the 3rd spot. And we've actually beaten every team ahead of us with the exception of Dallas(who we should've beaten and will get another shot at Saturday), Golden State(a justifiable loss), and New Orleans(who we have yet to face).

It's not like the Rockets can't turn this thing around. They may need to make a few tweaks to the roster like in '04-'05 when they started out an even worse 6-11.

What does concern me is that this team seems mentally weak. We always knew or at least suspected they were soft. But some of the guys are looking like quitters out there. Paycheck players. And no team has ever won squat with a roster full of that.
