I must have missed this earlier, but I heard that the Rockets are doing a promotion where they're asking everyone to "wear red" for the big Rockets game this Sunday against the Jazz. It's supposed to be like the Texans Battle Red Day. Will this work in Houston? Little concerned about the corporate fans. I wasn't a huge fan of the "all white" in Miami during the Finals -- it seemed a touch "pass the kool aid"-ish -- but red, that's another story. Let's hope this will encourage more people to come in battle gear.
The White Out thing that Miami did last year is a rip off of the old Winnepeg Jets. The Coyotes continue this tradition. They did that in the mid 80s. I think I am attending that game that day.
I'm not worried about which color the fans will be wearing. I've seen Heat fans all wearing red and white in different playoff games. I'm more concerned about those empty seats in the lower bowl. It pisses me everytime when I saw those empty seats at the beginnning of the game on TV. They better be filled early in the Jazz game. Yeah all red rowdies will be cool.
I believe the new jersey devils did a red out for one of their stanley cup games. it was really impressive they had everyone in the arena in red. it was soo impressive that my mom of all people said that was team spirit was all about and that she wished she was there. my mom who doesnt know a hockey puck from a football. if the rockets can do a red out for the playoffs or sundays game it would be awesome. of course the rockets must hand out red shirts
i hope they are doing this. where did you hear this news? all red would be awesome. we'll get that jazz team scared before the playoffs even start.

I seriously doubt the WHOLE stadium will be all red like Miami was all white. I doubt some of the fans know about the promotion. Not all of them go to Rockets.com or here.
i did make a mention of this in a different thread but if they really want this to be a success they need to hand out shirts themselves. a lot of people may bring their rockets jerseys and shirts but if they want the whole bowl, lower and upper to be the rockets organization will need to pony up the cash and buy the shirts for the fans. i can guarantee that there will be a lot less red than what they expect on sunday. even colleges hand out tshirts to their students for big game, granted that their crowd sizes are smaller (well depends on the program) they do have less money to work with as well
That would be awesome if it works out but I too have concerns about those corparate "fans"! but one of these days I would LOVE to see our TC in Red! (Im not talking about the building) I know Tmac will feel the energy and put up 85pts!!!
It's been all over the broadcast for the last 2 or 3 games, so who knows? I still doubt it will be >75%, but it would definitely be cool to see something close to entirely red.
There aren't many red suits made so what will the front rows wear?... Haha. I can see them now in red calvin murphy pimp suits.
The Rockets should hand out red t shirts in order to make sure everyone has red. (maybe with Gallery Furniture's name on it for sponsorship etc.) I don't know, it'll be awesome if this happens. At the very least, they should give red t's to the corporate people down in the lower bowl so they don't stand out in their black.
