60 mile-per-hour winds 80 miles off the coast heading straight to Galveston.

    Stay dry!

It's just sitting there dumping rain on us in buckets. Sure makes for nice sleeping weather as long as your house doesn't float away in the process.

I'm fortunate to be in a very high area of town where flooding is extremely rare.

Man, I hope this isn't any indication of our Hurricane season to come. I know we are way overdue for one.
Nuttin' but trouble these darn storms.
My truck almost stalled in the flooded Stop-n-Rob parking lot tonite!
And some guy was passed out in front of Fiesta with a realy big knot on his head. The ambulance came and left him, the firefighters had to call them back!
Nuttin' but trouble I tell ya! [IMG]

We did get dumped on last night here in Houston.

I unplugged everything and just read!

I woke up this morning to find the window with A/C unit in my computer room leaking! Water had gotten in the window, soaked through the towels I left, dripped into my surge protector/battery back up and fried it... it wasn't plugged in but when I did plug it in, it would only run on battery power... The on/off switch was flooded with water as well as the plugs! I'm lucky when I turned it on the whole thing didn't blow up!

Well... as if I'm made of money, I'm going to have to buy a new one....

It wasn't too bad. Just a lot of rain.

About a week ago, we had a nasty hail storm (much worse than this but not as long) and my roof started leaking like a waterfall. I called my insurance agent and the adjuster came out last week to tell me that they are replacing both the roof on my house and my office which is right behind my house. Woo hoo!

Fortunately, during the tropical storm, it didn't rain hard enough to leak down into the downstairs.

Unfortunetely I didn't get to experience any if it. After 28 hours of continuous travel from Australia, my flight departed Austin last night at 6pm for the final leg. We circled for 2 hours and then returned to Austin.

Here's where it gets really strange. They re-board us on a new plane, and the pilot comes out and says "OK, we are going to make one attempt to land at Hobby, but if it looks bad, we will continue straight to St Louis, and you will have to find your own accommodation. She goes on to say that a couple of planes have landed, but thay she is "the biggest chicken on the plane" (direct quote) and the chances of us even attempting a landing was remote.

90% of the passengers get off including me. Strangely enough, Southwest put me up in a hotel for the night. I always thought that if it was weather they didn't.

Still, it was a frustrating extension to an already too long trip.

Sorry Mango, I've been quite busy and haven't really paid close attention to the board lately.
We gpt about 10 inches of rain where I live. I was working till 6 on Tuesday, then had to dive right into the teeth of the storm to get home. Man, that was a hairy trip!
Overall, it wasn't that bad, but I got a ton of leaves in my pool. That sucked.

If anyone is free after work today, y'all are all invited over to my house to go fishing in the new lake that used to be my backyard.

Yeeesh! I like not having to water the lawn, but this is getting a little ridiculous!

I used to live in The Woodlands and earlier was watching some news on KHOU and they showed some shots of The Woodlands that were flooded pretty badly. Do any of you know how the Woodlands is doing?

    Johny,

I know Conroe and the surrounding area got 20-26" of rain last night....last NIGHT!!!

unbelievable. I really do have a sense of loss of time. Catastrophies do that.
