I really think that Kubli9 was on to something when he said that there should be a statue of the Dream outside our new arena. I think the true fans on this board should take a stand and try to see this come true. Maybe if enough of us write or e-mail the organization we can make it happen. Can't you picture taking your kids or grandkids to the new arena and stopping by the statue of the greatest Rocket to ever grace the court, telling them about the true glory days of Houston Basketball. Man, the thought gives me goosebumps.... I'm gonna try and I hope you guys help me.:)

They were completely unreceptive to my Granville Waiters Night promotion idea, so beware.

This would be a bigger/more expensive feat, but I think the picture with him holding his MVP trophy and all of his teammates around him would make a good statue.

For that matter, I think it would be cool to have a piece, say at each corner, representing every transition period of the team (the 70's could have Rudy and Calvin, the 80's Sampson, Lucas?, the 90's one owuld be Hakeem mainly, but the idea above woudl ahve it include the whole team of the 90's, etc), and then they could leave places for future teams/generation of teams.

someone posted this idea a while back, like last year or something.. there was a big argument over whether or not Hakeem would even agree to something like that because of something about the Muslim religion and not having icons/statues made of someone of Muslim faith... or something along those lines, does anyone remember the thread?

Maybe an inscription on a nameplate plaque underneath statue, which of course reads "We Need To Focass". OK, maybe Stay Humble, Stay Hungry.

Seriously, sounds very cool actually. And since he allowed us to get Boki, I don't even feel bad about his leaving anymore.

How about a combination of sculptures, Hakeem fading away with the Dream Shake, & Calvin with a finger-roll or jump-shot? Neither would have a ball.

JayZ750, great idea about Dream & the MVP.

    Houston Rocket Great Hakeem Olajuwon

Stay Humble, Stay Hungry. Then Try Our Extra Value Meal.

We should also encourage San Antonio to build a statue of David Robinson, then steal the statue and toss it face-down at the feet of the Hakeem statue-- thus recreating the 1995 Western Conference Finals for all time.
